Six runs were also scored by the 5 seeds, the PSU-GREATER ALLEGHENY NITTANY LIONS, as they survived their elimination game against the 8th seeded ST JOSEPH’S COLLEGE-BROOKLYN BEARS in a 6-1 rout. They followed that up with a 2-0 shutout win over the (9) BRIARCLIFFE BULLDOGS.
The top seeded NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS won another game by defeating the SELMA UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS. The final talley in this slugfest was 7-4.
Meanwhile the 10 seeds, the PENN TECH WILDCATS, came out on the winning side of an 8-5 clash with the HEAVILY disappointing 2 seeds, the CLARK STATE EAGLES.
