MAY 30TH’S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES SCORES FOR THE NAIA, D2, D3 AND NJCAA

 The NAIA’s Oklahoma City University Stars, who for the past two years have been sharing the sports spotlight at this time of year with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, fell yesterday in a Battle Royal with the top-seeded LSU-Shreveport Pilots (as in riverboat pilots).

Today the NAIA World Series resumes plus the NCAA Division 3 champs from 2011, the Marietta College Pioneers, continue their quest to repeat. All this plus D2 and NJCAA World Series scores as they become available.

NAIA WORLD SERIES – (9) Rogers State University Hillcats  keep their upset mojo going, bringing down the (2) Lee University Flames in a 7-5 game for the ages!!!  (Flames elim)  Hillcats advance to Friday’s Championship Game  *****  (1) LSU- Shreveport Pilots over the (4) TN Wesleyan Bulldogs  7-3  1st loss for Bulldogs in the series. Pilots face Bulldogs again tomorror for the right to advance to face RSU on Friday 

D3 WORLD SERIES – Marietta College Pioneers (defending champs) over the St Thomas University Tommies  5-0  (Tommies elim)  ***** Marietta Pioneers trounce the Wheaton (MA) Lyons  7-2  PIONEERS REPEAT AS NCAA DIVISION 3 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS  

D2 WORLD SERIES – Southern New Hampshire University Penmen fall to the Minnesota State Mavericks  6-0  Penmen commited 5 errors  *****  Catawba Indians hold on against the St Mary’s (TX) Rattlers  5-4  (Rattlers elim)

NJCAA1 WORLD SERIES – Gordon College Highlanders over the San Jacinto College Gators  9-7  *****  Shelton State Buccaneers keelhaul the Jefferson College Vikings  12-4  (Vikings elim)   

NJCAA2 WORLD SERIES – Western Oklahoma State Pioneers (defending champs) edge the Des Moines Bears  3-2  *****  LSU- Eunice Bengals maul the Des Moines Bears  13-0  Slaughter rule invoked in the 5th inning  (Bears elim)  ***** WOSC Pioneers lead the Madison College Wolfpack by the football score of 17-10 in the 8th inning. Game called on account of weather and will resume at 3pm ET tomorrow
