The Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks, the reigning champs of D3 football, are part of the eight-team field that will compete in this year’s D3 College World Series. For those unfamiliar with the collegiate approach to baseball championships various numbers of
teams (depending on the division) compete in a double-elimination tournament. D3 uses an 8-team field and with the regional playoff rounds over, the teams still in contention for this year’s title are: UWW Warhawks, Buena Vista Beavers, Salisbury Seagulls, Chapman Panthers, Keystone Giants, Marietta Pioneers, Western New England Golden Bears and the Kean Cougars. Congratulations to D3 for the fact that none of the teams in their World Series have the overused names Eagles, Tigers, Bulldogs or Wildcats. The D3 World Series gets underway this Friday, May 27th at 11 AM Eastern Time.
