A team named Eagles won the National Christian College Athletic Association Division 2 World Series, and now Division 1’s champion is also a team called the Eagles – in this case the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles. OWU, apparently outraged by my recent post regarding the overuse of the name Eagles for college sports teams, took the title defeating the North Greenville Crusaders in the best of three championship series. The Eagles topped the Crusaders 4-2 in Game 1, then got crushed by a score of 11-4 in Game 2. The deciding game saw the Eagles emerge with a 4-1 win. Congratulations to Oklahoma Wesleyan and to all the other 9,786 colleges whose teams are called the Eagles. Truly, today we can all say “Ich bin ein Eagle.”

So good to see these Christian schools get some exposure.
Thanks for the comment!
Cool brand the Eagles use. Never heard of these teams or divisions but youve got me interested.
