BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: OCTOBER 12th

HEADLINES

TOPPLING NUMBER FOUR – In NCAA Division 2, the number 15 CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY WILDCATS visited the 4th ranked UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT THE PERMIAN BASIN FALCONS. The Falcons were on top 7-3 come Halftime and 14-10 to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th, the Wildcats came from behind for a 27-14 Upset victory.

NUMBER EIGHT TAKES A FALL – Staying in D2 for a moment, the NORTHERN STATE WOLVES played host to the country’s number 8 UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AT DULUTH BULLDOGS. A 10-7 1st Quarter edge for the Wolves became 20-10 by the midpoint. After the break, the Bulldogs rallied but fell short as Northern State held on tight in a 34-31 triumph.

ANOTHER NUMBER EIGHT FOLLOWS – Over in the NAIA, the 14th ranked CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS traveled to face the number 8 team in the nation – the UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS. At the Half, the Fighting Saints put UMW on Upset Alert with their 28-14 advantage. From there CC held on to win the game 42-34. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: OCT 10th

NCAA DIVISION TWO

NUMBER TWO ROLLS – The 2nd ranked team in NCAA Division 2 football – the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON – traveled to face the SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE SAVAGE STORM. A 14-0 1st Quarter lead for the Bison became 21-7 by Halftime. Harding U. shut out the Savage Storm from there as they won the game by a final score of 35-7.

KNOCKING OFF NUMBER NINE – Last night the JONES COLLEGE BOBCATS played host to the nation’s 9th ranked HINDS COLLEGE EAGLES. A 7-7 tie in the opening Quarter morphed into a 24-14 Bobcats advantage at the Half. After the break, the two teams wound up exchanging Touchdowns in a 31-21 Upset victory for Jones College. BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: SEPTEMBER 27th

HEADLINES

THAT WAS NUMBER FIIIIVE – In the NAIA the 19th ranked MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS welcomed the nation’s number 5 team – the INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. By Halftime the Wildcats were on top of Marian U. 21-10 but things turned around after the break. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Knights within 28-24 of Indiana Wesleyan and the 4th in a 52-42 Marian triumph.

DOWN GOES NUMBER EIGHT – Over in NCAA Division 2, the NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE BEARCATS took the field against the visiting 8th ranked UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA BRONCHOS (their spelling). After a 7-7 1st Quarter tie, the Bearcats led 14-7 and 28-10 in the 2nd and 3rd Quarters. Northwest Missouri State won 38-16 in the 4th.

AND NUMBER NINE COMES TUMBLING AFTER – Staying in D2 for the moment, the number 16 CALIFORNIA (PA) UNIVERSITY VULCANS traveled to face the 9th ranked SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY ROCK. The Vulcans put Slippery Rock on Upset Alert with their 35-28 advantage at the Half. Each team scored 10 more points from there as Cal (PA) toppled the Rock 45-38. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER 25th

NJCAA

ONE-POINT WONDER – The ERIE COLLEGE KATS took it on the road against the COLLEGE AT BROCKPORT GOLDEN EAGLES. The Kats converted their 9-0 1st Quarter lead into a 16-2 advantage by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Erie College on top 23-2 but the 4th saw the Golden Eagles furiously rally only to fall just short as the Kats held on to win the game 23-22.  Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER 20th

HEADLINES

DIVISION THREE OVER DIVISION TWO – Three NCAA D3 teams shamed higher Division Two teams yesterday. The UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT OSHKOSH TITANS beat the ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS 38-21   ###   Next, the BREVARD COLLEGE TORNADOES survived a 38-34 visit from the ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET   ###   And the UW-LACROSSE EAGLES beat the WAYNE STATE WARRIORS 31-22.

SINKING NUMBER SIX – In the NAIA, the 14th ranked ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS (should be Tomcats) hosted the number 6 team in the nation – the GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS. The Bobcats stunned GC, leading them 3-0, 17-0 and 17-7 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively before putting them away 26-7 in the 4th.

ANOTHER NUMBER SIX GOES DOWN – Down in NCAA Div 3, the number 16 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT WHITEWATER WARHAWKS took it on the road against the country’s 6th ranked UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS. The Warhawks were on top 13-6 at Halftime, then shut out UMHB from there to topple them 26-6. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER THIRTEENTH

HEADLINES

KNOCKING OFF NUMBER THREE – In NCAA Division Two the UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AT DULUTH BULLDOGS took the field against the visiting number 3 team in the country – the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS. The Mavericks were up 7-3 at the midpoint but UMD rallied from there to topple Minnesota State 17-14.

DOWN GOES NUMBER FIVE – In this game D2’s number 16 PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS played their guests, the 5th ranked GRAND VALLEY STATE LAKERS. A scoreless 1st Quarter was followed by a 10-0 Gorillas advantage by the break. The Lakers made it a 10-7 game to end the 3rd Quarter, but Pittsburg State held on in the 4th for a 17-14 win.

ANOTHER NUMBER FIVE IS TOPPLED – Over in the NAIA, the 11th ranked MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS faced the visiting number 5 team – the UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS. The Orediggers were in control 27-9 at the Half, then kept UMW at arm’s length to win the game 34-23. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER SIXTH

HEADLINES

NUMBER TEN TAKES A FALL – In NCAA Division Three the 23rd ranked GROVE CITY COLLEGE WOLVERINES were on the road against the number 10 team in the nation – the CORTLAND STATE RED DRAGONS. The Red Dragons led 7-0 in the opening Quarter but Grove City tied things up 14-14 at the Half. The Wolverines shut them out from there to win the game 31-14.

HILLSDALE ON THE ROAD – The storied HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS traveled to face the MCKENDREE UNIVERSITY BEARCATS. A scoreless 1st Quarter was followed by a 14-0 Chargers lead at Halftime. In the 3rd Quarter the Bearcats made it a 14-14 tie, then went up 17-14 in the 4th. Hillsdale then came from behind for a 22-17 victory. Continue reading

BLUE DRAGONS WIN NJCAA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association)

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Last night the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS did battle with the IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS. A 14-0 Reivers lead in the 1st Quarter became 17-7 by Halftime. The Blue Dragons shut out Iowa Western in the 3rd Quarter while adding 21 points for themselves. The 4th Quarter saw Hutchinson College hold on for a 28-23 victory. * THE BLUE DRAGONS ARE 2024 CHAMPIONS *

BALLADEER’S BLOG: COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM DEC SEVENTH

NAIA PLAYOFFS

FIRST QUARTERFINAL – The BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS traveled to play the INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. The Ravens were surprisingly dominant over the favored Wildcats, keeping them off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter. BC was up 17-0 by Halftime and won the game by a final tally of 20-9.

SECOND QUARTERFINAL – In this game the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS took the field against the visiting NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS. This unusual affair saw Grand View out in front 7-0 to end the 1st Quarter and 17-0 at the Half. Seventeen to nothing held up as the final score as well. Continue reading
