COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEP THIRD

NAIA 

VIKING TOUGH – The VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS welcomed the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS last night. A 3-0 Blue Hawks lead in the 1st Quarter turned into a 10-7 edge at Halftime. A big 3rd Quarter for the Vikings put them up 21-10, but they had to hold on against Dickinson State in the 4th for a 28-25 win. 

NCAA DIVISION TWO

UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The INDIANA UNIVERSITY (PA) CRIMSON HAWKS took it on the road against the number 12 team in the nation – the ASHLAND UNIVERSITY EAGLES and notched a 34-24 victory over them    ###    And the 24th ranked UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AT DULUTH BULLDOGS toppled the visiting number 13 AUGUSTANA (SD) UNIVERSITY VIKINGS  30-23.

MARATHON GAME OF THE NIGHT – This game pitted the EDINBORO UNIVERSITY FIGHTING SCOTS against their guests the OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY PANTHERS. A scoreless opening Quarter was followed by an 18-7 Panthers lead at the Half. Regulation ended in a 21-21 tie, following which the 1st Overtime ended knotted up at 28-28. A 36-36 deadlock ended the 2nd OT, then in TRIPLE OVERTIME the Fighting Scots prevailed 38-36.

ALL NAME GAMES – The SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE SAVAGE STORM won 21-12 at the UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS   ###   Meanwhile, the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES crushed the visiting UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-WESTERN GRIFFONS 49-10   ###   And the HENDERSON STATE REDDIES triumphed 57-21 at the SOUTHERN NAZARENE UNIVERSITY CRIMSON STORM.

HOME STAND – The ARKANSAS TECH WONDERBOYS took the field against the visiting SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE BULLDOGS. SWOSU was on top 7-6 in the 1st Quarter, but the Wonderboys took a 13-10 edge by Halftime. The Bulldogs knotted things up at 13-13 to end the 3rd Quarter and an action-packed 4th saw Arkansas Tech win the game 26-20.

INSTANT CLASSICS – The (10) WESTERN COLORADO UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS survived a 23-21 visit from the ANGELO STATE RAMS   ###   Next, the CHADRON STATE EAGLES edged the UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AT KEARNEY LOPERS 24-21   ###   And the GLENVILLE STATE PIONEERS won by that same 24-21 score against the MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY MARAUDERS.

NCAA DIVISION THREE

MAJOR BURN – The MILLSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS played host to their rivals the BELHAVEN UNIVERSITY BLAZERS. Come Halftime the Majors were out in front of Belhaven 17-7. From there, Millsaps College extended their lead to 30-14 in the 3rd Quarter before logging a 36-20 win in the 4th.

ROAD WARRIORS – The GETTYSBURG COLLEGE BULLETS notched a 24-7 victory at the JUNIATA UNIVERSITY EAGLES   ###   Elsewhere, the WILMINGTON COLLEGE QUAKERS downed the WOOSTER COLLEGE SCOTS 22-19   ###   And the ROANOKE UNIVERSITY MAROONS hammered the VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY-LYNCHBURG DRAGONS 37-7.

ONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – In this game the OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BATTLING BISHOPS entertained the BLUFFTON UNIVERSITY BEAVERS. The Battling Bishops led hapless Bluffton 14-3, 40-3 and 54-9 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively. In the 4th Ohio Wesleyan put the Beavers out of their misery 68-9.
