NJCAA DIVISION TWO
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Fighting it out for the crown were the PARKLAND COLLEGE COBRAS and the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS. The Cobras had mustered a 35-28 advantage going into the locker room. After the break, Parkland College eked out a bit more separation from the favored Panthers as they won the game 76-68. Jaiden Martin’s THIRTY-FOUR points led the Cobras.

ELITE EIGHT: FIRST BERTH – The GULF COAST STATE COMMODORES played the INDIAN HILLS COLLEGE WARRIORS in this game. The Commodores put Indian Hills College on Upset Alert at Halftime with their 41-35 lead. From there, the Warriors rallied but fell just short as Gulf Coast State prevailed 72-70. The Commodores were led by Devontes Cobbs with 17 points.
ELITE EIGHT: SECOND BERTH – Next, the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES took the court against the SNOW COLLEGE BADGERS. This shootout was a tight affair. At the midpoint the Grizzlies were on top by a mere 48-47. In the 2nd Half, Butler College pulled away from the Badgers for a Century Club victory of 101-96. Tristan Hankins got a Double Double of 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies.
ELITE EIGHT: THIRD BERTH – The WALTERS STATE SENATORS faced the MIDLAND COLLEGE CHAPARRALS. Come Halftime the underdog Senators were up 49-41. After the break, Walters State left the Chaparrals further behind on their way to a 95-82 Upset. Nineteen points from Jamar Livingston led the Senators, while his teammate Brian Carter had a Double Double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
ELITE EIGHT: FOURTH BERTH – This game pitted the COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN IDAHO GOLDEN EAGLES against the NEW MEXICO COLLEGE THUNDERBIRDS. At the Half, the Golden Eagles led New Mexico College 39-28, but the Thunderbirds bit into that advantage a little from there. The final score was College of Southern Idaho 73 New Mexico College 66. Ace Reiser led the Golden Eagles with 28 points.
ELITE EIGHT: FIFTH BERTH – The NORTHERN OKLAHOMA COLLEGE AT ENID JETS clashed with the CHIPOLA COLLEGE INDIANS. The Jets were threatening an Upset at Halftime as they led 33-23. After the break, NOC-Enid carried through by toppling the Indians 64-50 led by Darian Grant, who tossed in 17 points.
ELITE EIGHT: SIXTH BERTH – Up next the HOWARD (TX) COLLEGE HAWKS played the DAYTONA STATE FALCONS. Daytona State had the Hawks fans worried at the midpoint since they led 49-42. Howard College outscored the Falcons 54-26 in the 2nd Half for a 96-75 beatdown. Terry Copeland led the Hawks with a Double Double of THIRTY-ONE points and 11 rebounds.
ELITE EIGHT: SEVENTH BERTH – The NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE RAIDERS took on the VINCENNES UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS. Another Upset was in the air as the Raiders were on top 32-26 come Halftime. From there, Northwest Florida State left the Trailblazers eating their dust in a 76-62 triumph. THIRTY points from Damarion Vann-Kelly led the Raiders.
ELITE EIGHT: LAST BERTH – And the TRINITY VALLEY COLLEGE CARDINALS did battle with the MONROE UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS for this final berth. The Cardinals watched their 36-25 advantage at the Half evaporate as Monroe U. forced Overtime with a 67-67 tie. In the extra session, TVC beat the Mustangs 78-75 led by Zati Loubaki with 18 points.
