BALLADEER’S BLOG: USCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS

As the 2026 college basketball postseason continues, here’s a look at the national tournaments in Divisions One and Two of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

DIVISION ONE

FIRST QUARTERFINAL – The 4 seeds – the NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS – took the court against the 5th seeded BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Buffalo) BOBCATS. Come Halftime the Stallions held a comfortable 38-21 lead over Bryant & Stratton. After the break, however, North American U. had to hold on by its fingertips to defeat the Bobcats just 65-64. Sixteen points from Jamarric Hammond led the Stallions.

SECOND QUARTERFINAL – Next, the top seeded BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE BEARS played the 8 seeds – the ATLANTIS UNIVERSITY ATLANTEANS. Bloomfield College had no problem at all handling the Atlanteans. At the Half, the Bears were on top 51-27 and from there they coasted to a 96-66 victory. Zamorian Singletary led Bloomfield by tossing in 27 points.

THIRD QUARTERFINAL – The 2 seeds – the SOUTHEASTERN ILLINOIS COLLEGE FALCONS (should be Blue Falcons) – were up against the 7th seeded BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Ohio) BOBCATS. The opening Half ended with the Falcons up 40-32. After the break, the Bobcats failed to bite away more than 2 points of the SIC lead, falling to them by a final score of 85-79. The victors were led by Silas Williams’ 18 points and his teammate Bryant Jenkins’ Double Double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

FOURTH QUARTERFINAL – And finally, the 3rd seeded BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Syracuse) BOBCATS faced the 6 seeds – the NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS (Shipbuilders). The Bobcats clung to a razor-thin 39-38 edge at Halftime before holding off the Builders to win out 88-85. BSC-Syracuse was led by Khai Pugh’s Double Double of THIRTY-THREE points & 10 rebounds, and Jordan Drain’s Double Double of 22 points & 11 rebounds.

  DIVISION TWO

PLAY-IN GAME ONE – In this game the 7 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT AUGUSTA MOOSE – played the 10th seeded ANDREWS UNIVERSITY CARDINALS. In an unbelievable turnaround, the Cardinals led THIRTY-NINE to EIGHTEEN at the break, but the Moose refused to say die. UM-Augusta came back to win this Instant Classic 70-69! Twenty-seven points from Donte Sharp led the Moose. 

PLAY-IN GAME TWO – The 9th seeded KENT STATE AT TUSCARAWAS GOLDEN EAGLES did battle with the 8 seeds – the VERMONT TECH GREEN KNIGHTS. Defense dominated the 1st Half, with the Golden Eagles leading 28-23 going into the locker room. Both offenses heated up from there as KSU-Tuscarawas defeated the Green Knights 82-73. Garrett Sprutte led the Golden Eagles with a Double Double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, while teammate Jaxon Robb had a Double Double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
