Forget the overused college team names like Eagles, Tigers, Bulldogs and Wildcats. Here’s another institution whose team name is more creative than that.

Team Name: BIGHORNS
Location: Bullhead City, AZ
Division: NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association)
Comment: Mohave College was established in 1970. Playing on their team name the Bighorns, this institution states its core values are Bravery, Integrity, Grit, Honesty, Ownership, Responsibility, Never-give-up and Sacrifice.
However, I was completely wrong when I speculated that Mohave stood for Many Ostriches Have A Vibrant Elegance.

My favorite (when it comes to stupid names for athletic teams) is the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs. For one thing, when I was a kid going out and catching lizards and snakes across West Texas. I called the mostly-flat lizards with all the little points growing from them “horny toads” (and so did everyone else). Something tells me they wanted to keep the unique lizard as a mascot, but wanted to avoid the association with “horny” (as they were supported by the Church of Christ).
Since we are on the topic of monikers and since you might be informed on things political:
I have heard, but not had explained, the idea that the phrase Arctic Frost is a derogatory reference to President Trump. Do you know what Biden’s FBI and DoJ was referring to in this moniker?
I’m afraid I don’t know. I’m still wondering that myself.
