NCAA DIVISION TWO

NUMBER TWO ROLLS – The 2nd ranked team in NCAA Division 2 football – the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON – traveled to face the SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE SAVAGE STORM. A 14-0 1st Quarter lead for the Bison became 21-7 by Halftime. Harding U. shut out the Savage Storm from there as they won the game by a final score of 35-7.

KNOCKING OFF NUMBER NINE – Last night the JONES COLLEGE BOBCATS played host to the nation’s 9th ranked HINDS COLLEGE EAGLES. A 7-7 tie in the opening Quarter morphed into a 24-14 Bobcats advantage at the Half. After the break, the two teams wound up exchanging Touchdowns in a 31-21 Upset victory for Jones College.

HAPPY HOMECOMING – The ITAWAMBA COLLEGE INDIANS marked Homecoming in this game against the COAHOMA COLLEGE TIGERS. The Indians kept Coahoma College off the scoreboard for the entire opening Half, which ended with Itawamba College up 41-0. From there, they held off the Tigers to win the game 44-10.

RANKED TEAMS ROCKING – The number 4 MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COLLEGE BULLDOGS clobbered the visiting EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE WARRIORS 27-3   ###   Elsewhere, the 7th ranked NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS routed the SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE BEARS 33-13   ###   And the number 12 COPIAH-LINCOLN COLLEGE WOLFPACK won 39-7 over the PEARL RIVER COLLEGE WILDCATS.   

ROAD SHUTOUT – In this game the HOLMES COLLEGE BULLDOGS took it on the road against the MISSISSIPPI DELTA COLLEGE TROJANS. The Bulldogs converted their 24-0 lead in the 1st Quarter into a 34-0 count by Halftime. When all was said and done, Holmes College had eviscerated the Trojans to the tune of 47-0.

RUSTLING AT ROBINSON STADIUM – The 2nd ranked GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE RUSTLERS visited the number 17 PASADENA CITY COLLEGE LANCERS. By the midpoint the Rustlers were on top 14-7. That became a 28-14 Golden West College lead to end the 3rd Quarter and the 4th saw the Rustlers hold on against PCC 28-21.

STILL UNDEFEATED – Yesterday the 5th ranked SOUTHWESTERN (CA) COLLEGE JAGUARS paid a call on the PALOMAR COLLEGE COMETS. The opening Half ended with the Jaguars out in front 21-14 and then 28-21 in the 3rd Quarter. To finish off the game Southwestern College got more separation from the Comets for a 38-24 win and a 6-0 record.  

ROAD RAGE – The (9) FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS got a 20-10 victory at the COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS COUGARS   ###   Meanwhile, the (11) SADDLEBACK COLLEGE GAUCHOS defeated their hosts the MT. SAN JACINTO COLLEGE EAGLES 24-13   ###   And the (16) RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE TIGERS won 41-27 at the CHAFFEY COLLEGE PANTHERS.

UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – This game pitted the VICTOR VALLEY COLLEGE RAMS against the home standing ANTELOPE VALLEY COLLEGE MARAUDERS. The Rams extended their 13-7 1st Quarter lead to 32-15 at Halftime. The Marauders made it a 32-21 game in the 3rd Quarter, then fell just short in the 4th as Victor Valley College held on for a 39-37 triumph.

BATTLE OF RANKED TEAMS – The number 10 EL CAMINO COLLEGE WARRIORS traveled to face the 21st ranked SAN DIEGO MESA COLLEGE OLYMPIANS. The Olympians were up 7-0 in the opening Quarter and 14-7 at the break. The Warriors tied things up at 14-14 to end the 3rd Quarter before winning out 28-14 in the 4th.

SHUTOUTS – The SANTA MONICA COLLEGE CORSAIRS achieved defensive perfection against the visiting PIERCE COLLEGE BRAHMA BULLS in a SIXTY-ONE to NOTHING affair    ###    And the LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE MONARCHS hosted the COMPTON COLLEGE TRAILBLAZERS (formerly the Tartars) and crushed them 53-0.

    Great posts as always. I don’t normally take any interest in college football but as always found your post to be extremely engaging to read. It brought to mind great movies about college football.
