DIVISION THREE OVER DIVISION TWO – Three NCAA D3 teams shamed higher Division Two teams yesterday. The UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT OSHKOSH TITANS beat the ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS 38-21 ### Next, the BREVARD COLLEGE TORNADOES survived a 38-34 visit from the ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET ### And the UW-LACROSSE EAGLES beat the WAYNE STATE WARRIORS 31-22.
SINKING NUMBER SIX – In the NAIA, the 14th ranked ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS (should be Tomcats) hosted the number 6 team in the nation – the GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS. The Bobcats stunned GC, leading them 3-0, 17-0 and 17-7 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively before putting them away 26-7 in the 4th.
ANOTHER NUMBER SIX GOES DOWN – Down in NCAA Div 3, the number 16 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT WHITEWATER WARHAWKS took it on the road against the country’s 6th ranked UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS. The Warhawks were on top 13-6 at Halftime, then shut out UMHB from there to topple them 26-6.
EIGHTY-TWO – Back up in the NAIA, the ST. AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES welcomed the WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS. The Fighting Bees proceeded to fold, spindle and mutilate William Woods U. as they converted a 21-0 1st Quarter lead into a 46-2 advantage by the Half. After the break SAU polished off the Owls EIGHTY-TWO to FIVE!
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER TWO – Way down in the CCCAA, the 20th ranked CITRUS COLLEGE OWLS entertained the number 2 MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE MOUNTIES. The Mounties were up 19-7 in the opening Quarter and 33-21 by the break. A big 3rd Quarter put the Owls on top 41-36, then they consummated the Upset 48-43 in the 4th.
A “W” FOR WILLIAMSON – The WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS improved to 2-2 on the season in Saturday’s clash with the visiting CAPP ACADEMY CRUSADERS. Defense was the name of the game as the Mechanics led their opponents 6-0 and 21-0 in the 1st and 2nd Quarters, respectively. From there, Williamson won out 28-2.
NAIA VS NCAA DIVISION THREE
NAIA WINS – The WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS visited the HOWARD PAYNE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS yesterday. The Pioneers led 7-3 to end the opening Quarter and made that 14-3 going into Halftime. The Yellow Jackets cut that to 21-10 in the 3rd Quarter, but Wayland Baptist held on in the 4th for a 21-18 triumph.
D3 WINS – The (8) HARDIN-SIMMONS UNIVERSITY COWBOYS played host to the LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. This game wasn’t close at all as the Cowboys led LCU 31-10 at the midpoint, then won out 52-17. The trio of D3 victories over NCAA Division 2 teams breaks the 1-1 tie to give D3 their first winning week of 2025.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The 25th ranked CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS traveled to take on the number 11 DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS and clobbered them 35-7 ### The WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN welcomed the 12th ranked MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS, beating them in a 34-31 Instant Classic ### And the MCPHERSON BULLDOGS won 17-10 at the (22) EVANGEL VALOR.
OFF THE SCHNEID – In this game the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES took the field against the visiting UNIVERSITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE EAGLES (should be Flamingos). Somebody’s “O” had to go, and the Gyrenes led 10-0 in the 1st Quarter and 16-6 come Halftime. AMU outscored UFL 20-6 from there to get their first 2025 win 36-12.
ROAD RAGE – The UNIVERSITY OF ST. MARY SPIRES crushed their hosts the AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) 48-19 ### Meanwhile, the (18) OTTAWA UNIVERSITY (AZ) SPIRIT eviscerated the OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE STATE AGGIES (should be Okies) 56-10 ### And the (8) FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS won 59-15 at the TABOR COLLEGE BLUEJAYS.
BC DOING A-OK – The BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES entertained the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS on Saturday. A 14-7 Swedes advantage in the 1st Quarter was unchanged at the break. The 3rd Quarter ended with Bethany College up 28-14 before having to hold on against a 4th Quarter Warriors rally for a 34-26 triumph.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY PHOENIX got themselves a 21-17 victory at the UNIVERSITY OF PIKEVILLE BEARS ### Elsewhere, the (13) SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE beat the home standing FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be Fury) 26-19 ### And the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS won 21-17 at the SIMPSON UNIVERSITY REDHAWKS.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The UPPER IOWA UNIVERSITY PEACOCKS downed the home standing 24th ranked MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES 21-14 ### Elsewhere, the CHADRON STATE EAGLES won 34-28 at the number 23 COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES OREDIGGERS ### And the CARSON NEWMAN EAGLES beat the visiting 17th ranked LENOIR-RHYNE BEARS 24-7.
K-STATE ON THE ROAD – The KENTUCKY STATE THOROBREDS took it on the road against the MOREHOUSE COLLEGE MAROON TIGERS on Saturday. The Thorobreds increased their 14-0 opening Quarter advantage to 28-10 at the Half. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter, and Kentucky State consummated the win 35-17 in the 4th.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The SOUTHERN NAZARENE UNIVERSITY CRIMSON STORM won 17-13 at the EAST CENTRAL UNIVERSITY TIGERS ### Next, the ARKANSAS TECH WONDERBOYS notched a 28-23 road victory over the OUACHITA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY TIGERS ### And the LIVINGSTONE COLLEGE BLUE BEARS defeated the BOWIE STATE BULLDOGS 17-16.
CHARGING TO A VICTORY – In this game the UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN CHARGERS laid out the welcome mat for the SAGINAW VALLEY UNIVERSITY CARDINALS. This odd game saw the Chargers leading Saginaw Valley U. 35-13 come Halftime. UNH never scored again, but held on for a 35-28 victory.
ALL NAME GAMES – The OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON felled the NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE RANGERS 16-8 ### Meanwhile, the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES won 34-26 at the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI WESTERN GRIFFONS ### And the HENDERSON STATE REDDIES crushed their hosts the UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS 48-18.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The 22nd ranked CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY TARTANS hosted the number 20 BERRY UNIVERSITY VIKINGS and won a defensive epic 17-9 ### And the RENSSELAER POLYTECHNICAL INSTITUTE ENGINEERS were at home against the 25th ranked COLLEGE AT BROCKPORT GOLDEN EAGLES, edging them 30-24 in Overtime.
PACIFISM DOESN’T PAY – This game pitted the WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY GENERALS against the visiting GUILFORD COLLEGE QUAKERS. The Generals only let Guilford College on the scoreboard during one Quarter of play. Washington & Lee led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 14-0 at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Generals up 28-7 and the 4th in a 35-7 triumph.
ALL NAME GAMES – The WILLIAMS COLLEGE EPHS (“eephs”) shut out the COLBY COLLEGE WHITE MULES 38-0 ### Meanwhile, the ST. OLAF COLLEGE OLES survived a 17-16 visit from the CONCORDIA (Moorhead) COBBERS ### And the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MAROONS defeated the ILLINOIS COLLEGE BLUE BOYS 24-21.
CROWNING TRIUMPH – The CROWN COLLEGE POLARS took the field against the visiting UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AT MORRIS COUGARS. The Polars were up 3-0, 10-0 and 17-6 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively. The 4th was a virtual orgy of scoring, but when the dust settled Crown College walked away with a 30-20 win.
TWO-POINT WONDERS – The KNOX COLLEGE PRAIRIE FIRE logged a 16-14 road victory over the BELOIT COLLEGE BUCCANEERS ### Next, the TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS eked out a 22-20 win against the WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY CARDINALS ### And the WORCESTER POLYTECHNICAL INSTITUTE ENGINEERS won 15-13 at the HUSSON UNIVERSITY EAGLES.

DEFENSIVE PERFECTION – The NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS (as in Shipbuilders) were less than gracious hosts to the SOUTH CAROLINA CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE GLADIATORS. The Builders led SCCCC 10-0, 31-0 and 52-0 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively before winning the game in a 59-0 shutout.
THIS GAME WAS FOR THE BIRDS – The NORTHEASTERN STATE RIVERHAWKS played the visiting WESTGATE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY GOLD RAVENS. The Riverhawks dominated their opponents on both sides of the ball, leading Westgate Christian 35-0 by the midpoint of the game. From there, Northeastern State buried the Gold Ravens 70-12.
ROAD WARRIORS – The CLAYTON STATE LAKERS found themselves on the road against the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS yesterday and went back home with a 25-14 victory ### Elsewhere, the MYRTLE BEACH COLLEGE MARAUDERS paid a visit to the BARBER-SCOTIA COLLEGE SABERS and wound up defeating them 27-14.
SHARK WEEK – The LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE MAKOS (as in the sharks) took the field against the visiting SOUTH FLORIDA TECHNICAL COLLEGE WILDCATS. The opening Half ended with the Makos on top of SFTC 21-10. After the break, Lighthouse Christian College kept up their momentum in an authoritative 49-22 victory.
UPSET! – Even bigger than the Clayton State over Point University Upset above, this game saw the DAYTONA ELITE ACADEMY WARRIORS invade the home stadium of the ATLANTIS UNIVERSITY ATLANTEANS. The Warriors were determined not to be intimidated and proceeded to outperform Atlantis University 33-12.

ONE AND TWO ROLL – The number 1 defending national champions – the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS – more than doubled-up on their hosts the 9th ranked IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS 35-17 ### And the number 2 IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS won 31-7 at the DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS.
INSTANT CLASSIC – In this game the COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS were on the road against the GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS. Come Halftime the Broncbusters were on top 17-7 but the 3rd Quarter ended with Coffeyville College up 21-17. The Red Ravens held on in the 4th to win by a final count of 26-24.
WHY DON’T WE DO IT ON THE ROAD? – The LOUISBURG COLLEGE HURRICANES routed the SUSSEX COUNTY COLLEGE SKYLANDERS 27-9 ### Elsewhere, the COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (MI) LIONS triumphed 27-13 at the HOCKING COLLEGE HAWKS ### And the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS edged the HIGHLAND COLLEGE SCOTTIES 41-38.
MIGHTY TAKEDOWN – The MONROE UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS welcomed the COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS. The Mustangs turned their 3-0 1st Quarter edge into 10-3 by the midpoint. The 3rd Quarter ended with Monroe U. comfortably leading 17-3, but the Chaparrals rallied in the 4th, only to fall short 20-17.
HOME AND AWAY – Home: The (13) BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES faced the INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES and outlasted them in Overtime by a score of 30-27 ### Away: The NASSAU COLLEGE LIONS took it on the road against the HUDSON VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS (should be the Dutchmen) and won the game 22-14.

FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE – With number 2 Mt. SAC losing, the 4th ranked GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE RUSTLERS won 21-13 at the (15) BAKERSFIELD COLLEGE RENEGADES ### Next, the number 3 BUTTE COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS beat their hosts the MODESTO COLLEGE PIRATES 43-29 ### And the top ranked COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO BULLDOGS won 38-14 at the AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS.
A DOUBLE SHOT OF THAT OT LOVE – The (14) SADDLEBACK COLLEGE GAUCHOS paid a visit to the (8) RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE TIGERS. Riverside led 21-10 at Halftime, but from there the Gauchos forced extra sessions with a 34-34 tie to end the 4th Quarter. The 1st OT was scoreless, but in the 2nd Overtime Saddleback College defeated the Tigers 40-34.
COMFORTABLE WINS – The (9) SOUTHWESTERN (CA) COLLEGE JAGUARS dispatched the (21) MT. SAN JACINTO COLLEGE EAGLES 31-10 ### The GROSSMONT COLLEGE GRIFFINS embarrassed the LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE MONARCHS 48-10 ### And the (12) FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS won 55-21 at the EAST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE WILDCATS.
ONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – This game pitted the SANTA MONICA COLLEGE CORSAIRS against the visiting COLLEGE OF THE DESERT ROADRUNNERS. The Corsairs were out in front 14-0 in the opening Quarter and 52-14 at the Half. After the break, Santa Monica College and the Roadrunners traded Touchdowns as the Corsairs won 66-28.
ROAD WARRIORS – The (22) SAN DIEGO MESA COLLEGE OLYMPIANS traveled to face the PALOMAR COLLEGE COMETS. The Olympians triumphed 28-21 ### And the ANTELOPE VALLEY COLLEGE MARAUDERS paid a visit to the GLENDALE COLLEGE GAUCHOS and converted a 21-20 Halftime edge into a 38-27 victory.
