TIGER ON TIGER VIOLENCE – The BENEDICT COLLEGE TIGERS welcomed the storied TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN TIGERS last night. The Golden Tigers led 14-7 to end the 1st Quarter but Benedict College was up 28-17 by Halftime. After the break, the Tigers outscored Tuskegee 17-7 to win the game by a final score of 45-24.

UPSET IN THE RANKINGS – In this game the ITAWAMBA COLLEGE INDIANS took the field against the visiting number 12 team in the nation – the EAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE LIONS. At the Half the Lions were on top 17-3 but Itawamba College came out of the locker room ready for a comeback. The 3rd Quarter saw the Indians tie things up at 17-17 before winning it in the 4th 34-24.

NUMBER FOURTEEN ROLLS – The 14th ranked COPIAH-LINCOLN COLLEGE WOLFPACK played host to the JONES COLLEGE BOBCATS. A 7-7 opening Quarter tie became a 14-7 Wolfpack lead by the midpoint. From there Copiah-Lincoln College left the Bobcats further and further behind on their way to a 31-20 triumph.

ROAD WARRIORS – Up next, the EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE WARRIORS traveled to face the PEARL RIVER COLLEGE WILDCATS. The Wildcats were up 20-0 in the 1st Quarter, but ECC had cut that to just 20-17 come Halftime. The Warriors then led 31-27 by the end of the 3rd Quarter before consummating this road win 37-27 in the 4th.

FIGHTING LIKE CATS AND DOGS – The HOLMES COLLEGE BULLDOGS welcomed the NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE TIGERS. The opening Quarter ended in a 7-7 tie and the 1st Half with the Bulldogs on top 17-14. Holmes College put some distance between themselves and the Tigers after the break, ultimately winning the game 43-27.

SHUTOUTS – The nation’s number 10 team – the NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS – were at home against the COAHOMA COLLEGE TIGERS and shut them out by a count of 45-0    ###    Meanwhile, the HINDS COLLEGE EAGLES tanned the hides of the visiting MISSISSIPPI DELTA COLLEGE TROJANS, blanking them 48-0.
