CLOSE CALL FOR NUMBER THIRTEEN – In NCAA Division Two the 13th ranked COLORADO STATE AT PUEBLO THUNDERWOLVES traveled to face the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES. A 10-10 1st Quarter tie became a 17-10 Mules lead by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Thunderwolves on top 20-17 and the 4th in a 29-24 CSU-Pueblo victory.
STAMPEDE – On the other hand, D2’s number 2 team in the nation – the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON – had no such difficulties with their guests the SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE BULLDOGS. The Bison seized a 14-0 advantage in the opening Quarter and doubled that to 28-0 at the Half. From there Harding U. buried the Bulldogs by a final count of 55-0.
OTHER SHUTOUTS – The D2 ARKANSAS TECH WONDERBOYS welcomed the NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE RANGERS and achieved defensive perfection against them in a 44-0 triumph ### And the OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY PANTHERS visited the WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BOBCATS and clobbered them 31-0.
CATFIGHT – This D2 game pitted the CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY PANTHERS against their guests the FORT VALLEY STATE WILDCATS. Neither team scored in the 1st Quarter but by the midpoint the Panthers were on top 16-7. That became a 21-16 Wildcats edge in the 3rd Quarter before Clark Atlanta won out 26-21 in the 4th.

DOWN GOES NUMBER THREE – The EAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE LIONS took the field against the visiting number 3 team in the country – the NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS. It looked like an easy Lions win given their 24-0 Halftime lead. However, after the break the Rangers rallied furiously but fell short in this 34-28 EMC victory.
NUMBER SEVEN TAKES A FALL – The HINDS COLLEGE EAGLES played host to the 7th ranked COPIAH-LINCOLN COLLEGE WOLFPACK in this game. A 10-10 1st Quarter tie turned into a 17-10 Wolfpack advantage at the Half. From there the Eagles led 24-17 in the 3rd Quarter, then held on in the 4th to win the game 31-29.
BULLDOGS FOR THE WIN – The number 6 MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COLLEGE BULLDOGS took it on the road against the JONES COLLEGE BOBCATS and notched a thrilling 28-24 victory ### Meanwhile, the HOLMES COLLEGE BULLDOGS traveled to face the COAHOMA COLLEGE TIGERS and hammered them to the tune of 53-14.
ANOTHER ROAD TRIUMPH – In this game, the ITAWAMBA COLLEGE INDIANS did battle with the home standing EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE WARRIORS. At the midpoint, the Warriors were holding on by their fingertips to a 14-13 edge. The Indians shut out ECC after the break as they proceeded to win this clash 23-14.
HAPPY HOME STAND – The NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE TIGERS improved to 3-0 last night against the visiting MISSISSIPPI DELTA COLLEGE TROJANS. The opening Quarter ended in a 7-7 deadlock, but it was all Tigers from there. Northeast Mississippi College shut out the Trojans while piling up more points themselves in a 24-7 rout.
GRIN AND BEAR IT – Wrapping things up was this game between the SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE BEARS and their guests the PEARL RIVER COLLEGE WILDCATS. The Bears led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 21-0 come Halftime. The Wildcats got on the board in the 3rd Quarter to make it a 28-7 score with SMC logging a 35-20 win in the 4th.
