COLLEGE BASKETBALL: NJCAA and CCCAA TOURNAMENT RESULTS

NJCAA DIVISION ONE

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The TRINITY VALLEY COLLEGE CARDINALS and the CONNORS STATE COWBOYS squared off against each other for this division’s crown. The teams went basket for basket in the opening Half, which ended in a 32-32 tie. After the break the Cardinals pulled away from the Cowboys for a 69-61 triumph. Zati Loubaki and Garrett Nuckolls led TVC with 17 points each.

NJCAA DIVISION TWO

FIRST SEMIFINAL – In this game the PARKLAND COLLEGE COBRAS faced the PIMA COLLEGE AZTECS. Come Halftime the Cobras were on top of Pima College 44-38. From there Parkland College left the Aztecs further and further behind to win the game 95-74. Adam Squire led the Cobras with 23 points while teammate Jaden Martin logged a Double Double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

SECOND SEMIFINAL – The KIRKWOOD COLLEGE EAGLES did battle with the KALAMAZOO VALLEY COLLEGE COUGARS. Kalamazoo Valley was clinging to a 40-39 edge at the Half, but after the break the Eagles took control of the game in an 88-73 victory. Nineteen points from Richard Lindsey, Jr. led the way for Kirkwood College.

NJCAA DIVISION THREE

FINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – This game pitted the HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS against the SANDHILLS COLLEGE FLYERS. The favored Flyers were up 41-36 by Halftime, but from there Herkimer College made their move. The Generals ultimately prevailed in a 75-72 Upset led by Jayson McGhee, who tossed in 28 points.

FINAL FOUR: SECOND BERTH – The MOHAWK VALLEY COLLEGE HAWKS (should be Mohawks) played the SALEM (NJ) COLLEGE MIGHTY OAKS. The Hawks were well and truly in control by the Half, leading Salem College 43-27. After the break Mohawk Valley College managed a touch more separation from the Mighty Oaks to win the game 71-49. Andre Pasha led the Hawks with a Double Double of 18 points and 12 rebounds.   

FINAL FOUR: THIRD BERTH – Up next the RICHLAND COLLEGE THUNDERDUCKS took on the DUTCHESS COLLEGE FALCONS. The Thunderducks put Dutchess College on Upset Alert at Halftime with their 33-27 lead. Richland College then consummated the Upset 67-60 led by Trey Wright, who had a Double Double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

FINAL FOUR: LAST BERTH – Completing the 2025 quartet were the winners of this game between the MINNESOTA STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE SPARTANS and the UNION COUNTY COLLEGE OWLS. The Spartans outclassed UCC on both sides of the ball, leading them 32-24 at the Half before downing them 78-58. Foday Sheriff’s Double Double of 26 points and 15 rebounds led MSTC.

CCCAA

FINAL FOUR: BERTH ONE – The FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS took the court against the CONSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE HAWKS. Come Halftime the Hornets were on top of CRC by a score of 30-26. From there Fullerton got more and more separation from the Hawks for a 68-53 victory. Twenty-three points from Joe Grahovac led the Hornets.   

FINAL FOUR: BERTH TWO – In this game the CITRUS COLLEGE OWLS faced the LAS POSITAS COLLEGE HAWKS. The Owls folded, spindled and mutilated LPC, leading them 58-34 at the midpoint before polishing them off by a Century Club score of 112-73. Blazing a trail for the triumphant Citrus College was K.J. Perry with 29 points. 

FINAL FOUR: BERTH THREE – The SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE WOLVERINES fought it out with the WEST VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS. The Wolverines played suffocating defense in the opening Half and led West Valley College 36-25 at the break. From there SBVC clamped down even harder on defense, humiliating the Vikings 68-40. Khemanni Davis led the Wolverines with 17 points. 

FINAL FOUR: BERTH FOUR – Wrapping things up was this game between the CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO RAMS and the CERRITOS COLLEGE FALCONS. By Halftime the Rams had compiled a 40-30 advantage over Cerritos College. CCSF then converted that lead into an 82-70 victory. Ray-John Spears led the Rams by putting up 26 points.
