DOWN GOES NUMBER ONE – This game pitted the LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) against their guests, the nation’s number 1 team – the LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS. The Pilots were up 38-31 at the Half before defeating the Generals by a final count of 101-96. Twenty-seven points from Tahjae Hill led LSU-Shreveport.

NAIL-BITER – The INDIANA UNIVERSITY-EAST RED WOLVES took it on the road against the UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE RED STORM. The Red Storm had eked out a 30-29 edge by Halftime, but an equally hard-fought 2nd Half ended in a 63-62 Red Wolves win. Antuane Allen led Indiana University-East with 24 points. 

CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation: The MAYVILLE STATE COMETS trounced the visiting VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS 100-66   ###   Meanwhile, the LAWRENCE TECH BLUE DEVILS edged the MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS in a 111-110 shootout   ###   And the DALTON STATE ROADRUNNERS eviscerated the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS 106-59.

RELENTLESS – In this game the LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES visited the CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS, who are in their institution’s final season of intercollegiate athletics. By the Half the Gray Wolves were on top 41-31, followed by each team adding 29 more points to their tally in a 70-60 Lourdes victory. Caden Kruse led LU with 16 points.

KINGS OF THE ROAD – The CAL MARITIME ACADEMY KEELHAULERS traveled to play the LINCOLN (CA) OAKLANDERS and downed them 97-74   ###   Elsewhere, the EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Aeronauts) won 76-72 at the LIFE PACIFIC COLLEGE WARRIORS   ###   And the MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE KNIGHTS beat the BREWTON-PARKER COLLEGE BARONS 78-66.   

AXE MURDER – In this game the HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY FORESTERS welcomed the GOSHEN COLLEGE MAPLE LEAFS. The Foresters embarrassed Goshen College on both sides of the ball and were on top 42-25 at the midpoint. From there they coasted to an easy 91-56 blowout of the Maple Leafs. Lane Sparks led Huntington with a Double Double of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

ALL NAME GAMES – The ST. AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES took down their guests the TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS 78-72   ###   The UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE-SOUTHERN FIREHAWKS won 82-72 at the BLUE MOUNTAIN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY TOPPERS   ###   And the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES downed the SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE 90-79.

MOST LOPSIDED CLASH OF THE WEEK – The COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES took the court against the visiting EVERGREEN STATE GEODUCKS. The Coyotes folded, spindled and mutilated the Geoducks, smothering them 51-24 at Halftime, then winning the game NINETY-SEVEN to FORTY-SIX. Drew Wyman led this total team effort with 14 points.

HOME AND AWAY – Home: The MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS routed their Frontier Conference rivals the UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS by a final score of 80-61    ###    Away: The UNIVERSITY OF PROVIDENCE ARGONAUTS managed to put together two solid Halves of basketball to defeat the MONTANA STATE-NORTHERN LIGHTS 73-60.

DEFENSIVE EPIC – Points were at a premium in this hardcourt fracas between the NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS and the visiting JARVIS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS. The Stallions had eked out a 30-28 Halftime edge over JCU. From there the teams went basket for basket as NAU triumphed 57-55 led by 16 points from Erric Wynn.   

HAPPY HOME STANDS – The UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES manhandled the BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY BRUINS by a score of 75-50   ###   Meanwhile, the THOMAS UNIVERSITY NIGHT HAWKS defeated the ABRAHAM BALDWIN AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE STALLIONS 86-73   ###   And the BETHEL (IN) PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) won 80-67 over the TAYLOR UNIVERSITY TROJANS.
