“THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE” – The HOUGHTON UNIVERSITY HIGHLANDERS welcomed the KEUKA COLLEGE WOLVES. A frenzied opening Half ended with the Highlanders on top 48-41. During the 2nd Half the Wolves bit into that lead but fell short as Houghton University held on for an 84-81 victory. Jajuan Preaster and Christian Sage led the Highlanders with 17 points each.
DOUSING D.C. – The ROBERTS WESLEYAN COLLEGE REDHAWKS doused some cold water on their hosts the UNIVERSITY OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FIREBIRDS. The Firebirds held a 37-34 edge at Halftime but the Redhawks mounted a comeback after the break. Roberts Wesleyan won 77-70. Malik Brooks led the Redhawks with 29 points.
DEFENSIVE EPIC – It was a case of textbook defense in this clash between the traveling OHIO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS and the BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Cleveland) BOBCATS. B&S were up 32-27 by the midpoint. From there the Trailblazers roared from behind to win the game 57-53. Chapman Faulkner led OCU with 17 points and teammate Caleb Schmelzer got a Double Double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.
THE PACK ON THE HUNT – The OAK HILLS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE WOLFPACK visited the LEECH LAKE TRIBAL COLLEGE LEECH LAKERS. The Leech Lakers were clinging to a 43-41 edge at the Half. After the break the Wolfpack howled back for a 91-87 triumph. Noah Larson led Oak Hills Christian College with THIRTY points.
CENTURY CLUB – The LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS took the court against the visiting PENN STATE AT BERK LIONS. The Chargers pretty much owned the game, leading PSU-Berk 48-34 at Halftime before going on to crush them 101-78. Nineteen points from Camden Hurst led LBC, while his fellow Charger Luke Rumbaugh logged a Double Double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.
ROAD WARRIORS – The OAKLAND CITY UNIVERSITY MIGHTY OAKS won an 81-78 thriller at the BRESCIA UNIVERSITY BEARCATS ### Elsewhere, the JUSTICE COLLEGE WOLVES downed the BETHESDA UNIVERSITY FLAMES 81-76 ### And the GREAT LAKES CHRISTIAN COLLEGE CRUSADERS won 88-58 at the MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE ARCHERS.
ONE-POINT WONDER – This game pitted the CAROLINA UNIVERSITY BRUINS against their guests the UNIVERSITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE EAGLES (should be Flamingos). UFL was up 38-27 by the midpoint, but from there the Bruins rallied. In the end Carolina U. won out 71-70. Chris High tossed in 22 points to lead the Bruins to the win.
HOME AND AWAY – Home: The CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY AT HARRODSBURG PIONEERS managed to defeat the BOYCE COLLEGE BULLDOGS by a final score of 95-91 ### Away: For their part the RANDALL UNIVERSITY SAINTS squeezed out a 78-76 win for themselves at the OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AMBASSADORS.
A ROAR OF THUNDER – Up next was a battle between the MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE THUNDER and their hosts the CALVARY UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The Thunder folded, spindled and mutilated Calvary University, leading them 37-24 come Halftime and defeating them 82-48. Sixteen points from Micah Lovett led MCC.
NAUGHTY NINETIES – The CROWN COLLEGE POLARS welcomed the UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN (MN) EAGLES. The Polars watched their 47-38 1st Half advantage get nearly wiped out after the break. In the end Crown College held on for a 94-91 triumph. Tyrus Buckner led the Polars with 21 points, while teammate John Grigsby logged a Double Double of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
