BALLADEER’S BLOG POSTSEASON COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: DEC 14th

NAIA PLAYOFFS

FIRST SEMIFINAL – This game pitted the defending national champs – the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS – against the visiting BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS. A 6-0 Ravens lead in the 1st Quarter became a 14-14 tie by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Benedictine College up 28-14 but the Seahawks exploded in the 4th, coming from behind for a 42-38 triumph.

SECOND SEMIFINAL – The GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS played host to the MORNINGSIDE UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS. Grand View dominated the Mustangs from start to finish. By the midpoint of the game the Vikings led 23-7, then they outscored Morningside 13-6 after the break to win out 36-16.  

NCAA DIV TWO PLAYOFFS

SEMIFINAL ONE – The VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS ended the underdog playoff run of the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS today. The Blazers were in the lead 7-0, 14-7 and 28-14 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively. The 4th saw Valdosta State clinch their latest trip to the national championship game with a 35-21 victory.

SEMIFINAL TWO – The FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS hosted the SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY ROCK. By the midpoint of the game the Rock led 38-27. After the break the Bulldogs shut out Slippery Rock the rest of the way. Ferris State pulled to within 38-34 in the 3rd Quarter then roared from behind to win 48-38.

NCAA DIV THREE PLAYOFFS

FIRST QUARTERFINAL – The SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY RIVERHAWKS welcomed the BETHEL (MN) ROYALS. A 7-0 Royals lead in the opening Quarter turned into a 14-7 advantage at the Half. The Riverhawks made it a 14-14 game in the 3rd Quarter before pulling off a thrilling 24-21 win in the 4th.

SECOND QUARTERFINAL – Up next the UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS traveled to face the SALISBURY UNIVERSITY SEA GULLS. It was 7-7 to end the 1st Quarter but the Purple Raiders went up 21-10 by the midpoint. That became a 28-10 advantage over the Sea Gulls in the 3rd and finally a 38-17 Mt. Union victory.

THIRD QUARTERFINAL – The JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUE JAYS played host to the UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS. The defenses dominated this game as the opening Quarter ended in a 3-0 edge for the Blue Jays. The Halftime score was 17-7 in favor of Johns Hopkins and the Crusaders added a field goal in the 2nd Half as the Blue Jays won 17-10.

FOURTH QUARTERFINAL – Wrapping up the Quarterfinal Round in D3 was this game between the NORTH CENTRAL COLLEGE CARDINALS and the visiting SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE PRIDE. The Cardinals gave up just 3 points to the Pride during the entire game while parlaying a 17-3 Halftime lead into a 27-3 victory.

NJCAA PLAYOFFS

hutchinson blue draNATIONAL CHAMPION-SHIP GAME – This Wednesday December 18th the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS will play the IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS. Kickoff in this game is set for 8:30PM Eastern time.

CCCAA PLAYOFFS

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO BULLDOGS against the MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE MOUNTIES. The Bulldogs embarrassed the Mounties, leading them 19-3 come Halftime and polishing them off easily from there for a 43-11 victory.
