BALLADEER’S BLOG: WNBA RESULTS – JUNE 30th EDITION

seattle stormWIN IT BY TWELVE – The SEATTLE STORM (11-6) welcomed the INDIANA FEVER (7-12).

By Halftime of the game the Storm were on top of Indiana by a score of 53-39 and from there they coasted to an 89-77 victory. Jewell Loyd led the winners with her THIRTY-FOUR points. For the Fever, CAITLIN CLARK led with 15 points and 7 assists.   

atlanta dreamATLANTA ON THE ROAD – In this affair the ATLANTA DREAM (7-9) traveled to face the CONNECTICUT SUN (14-4).

A 19-19 1st Quarter tie became a 33-31 edge for the Sun at the Half. After the break, the Dream pulled in front of Connecticut 57-56 in the 3rd Quarter before ending the 4th with a 78-74 win. Seventeen points from Allisha Gray led Atlanta to the victory. 

las vegas acesA WINNING GAMBIT – Yesterday the LAS VEGAS ACES (10-6) took it on the road against the WASHINGTON MYSTICS (4-15).

The Mystics held a 52-46 advantage over Las Vegas by the midpoint of the game. From there, however, the Aces pulled to within 69-67 to end the 3rd Quarter and in a dominant 4th Las Vegas won out 88-77. Jackie Young tossed in 26 points to lead the Aces.

phoenix mercuryMERCURY RISING – The PHOENIX MERCURY (9-8) played host to the LOS ANGELES SPARKS (4-14).

The Sparks managed a 45-44 edge over their opponents by Halftime. After the break the Mercury made their move, leading 72-62 in the 3rd Quarter and 92-78 to end the 4th. Kahleah Copper’s 24 points led Phoenix, while her teammate Brittney Griner logged a Double Double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.

dallas wingsWING AND A PRAYER – This game pitted the DALLAS WINGS (4-13) against the visiting MINNESOTA LYNX (13-4).

A 28-15 Lynx lead in the opening Quarter became a mere 45-43 edge at the Half. In the 2nd Half the Wings outscored Minnesota 51-43 for a 94-88 win. Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale led her team with 23 points, and Teaira McCowan gave Dallas her Double Double of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
