BALLADEER’S BLOG: WNBA RESULTS, JUNE 23rd EDITION

indiana fever logoFEVER DREAM – From State Farm Arena in Georgia came this game between the INDIANA FEVER (7-10) and their hosts the ATLANTA DREAM (6-8).

A 35-25 1st Quarter lead for the Fever became 57-41 at Halftime. After the break, Indiana kept the Dream at arm’s length, ultimately winning the game by a final tally of 91-79. NaLyssa Smith’s 21 points led the Fever, while CAITLYN CLARK logged 16 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds.

las vegas acesBATTLE IN SIN CITY – The LAS VEGAS ACES (8-6) welcomed the CONNECTICUT SUN (13-2) to Michelob Ultra Arena. 

By the Half, the Aces were on top 45-28 and the 3rd Quarter ended with Connecticut cutting their opponents’ lead to 63-50. In the 4th, Las Vegas finished off the Sun 85-74. A’ja Wilson of the Aces led her team to victory with her Double Double of 26 points and 16 rebounds.

new york libertyALMOST IN THE CENTURY CLUB – This game pitted the NEW YORK LIBERTY (14-3) against the visiting LOS ANGELES SPARKS (4-13).

Despite trailing the Sparks 25-21 in the opening Quarter, the Liberty led Los Angeles by a score of 54-44 at the midpoint. From there, New York maintained distance from the Sparks for a 98-88 triumph. THIRTY-THREE points from Breanna Stewart led the Liberty, while her teammate Jonquel Jones managed a Double Double of 14 points and 13 rebounds.

washington mysticsSMACKDOWN – The WASHINGTON MYSTICS (3-13) took the court against the DALLAS WINGS (3-12).

The Mystics led Dallas 20-13, 51-34 and 73-51 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively. The 4th ended with Washington routing the Wings 97-69. Emily Engstler tossed in 23 points for the Mystics, and her colleague Stefanie Dolson added a Double Double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

phoenix mercuryPHOENIX FRACAS – The PHOENIX MERCURY (8-7) faced their guests the SEATTLE STORM (9-6).

After piling up a 47-33 Halftime advantage, the Mercury withstood a minor Seattle rally in the 4th Quarter on their way to an 87-78 victory. Kahleah Copper of Phoenix led her team in this win over the Storm by putting up THIRTY POINTS.

  1. I don’t know how it happened, but I’m a Fever fan. The more Caitlin gets attacked, the more I like her.
