indiana feverINSTANT CLASSIC – The INDIANA FEVER (2-8) welcomed the CHICAGO SKY (3-4) yesterday for what turned out to be a terrific game.

The Fever led 17-14 in the 1st Quarter and 35-33 at Halftime. After the break, the Sky put up 37 points to the 36 scored by Indiana but the Fever won out 71-70. Kelsey Mitchell led the victors with 18 points. New draftee Caitlin Clark plays for Indiana.

atlanta dreamGEORGIA DREAMIN’ – In this game the ATLANTA DREAM (4-2) played host to the LAS VEGAS ACES (4-2).

By the Half, the Aces were on top 34-28. From there the Dream made their move, knotting things up at 53-53 to end the 3rd Quarter on their way to a 78-74 triumph. Atlanta’s Allisha Gray led her team to the tight win with her 24 points.

connecticut sunCLOSE CALL FOR CONNECTICUT – From Mohegan Sun Arena, the CONNECTICUT SUN (7-0) took on the visiting DALLAS WINGS (3-3).

This back & forth affair saw the Wings up 21-18 in the opening Quarter, but the Sun in front 40-34 come Halftime. That became a 59-50 advantage for Connecticut in the 3rd Quarter. The Suns had to withstand a furious Wings rally in the 4th to hold on for a 74-72 win. Brionna Jones tossed in 22 points to lead Connecticut, while her teammate Alyssa Thomas logged a Double Double of 15 points and 14 assists. 

new york libertyNEW YORK STATE OF MIND – The NEW YORK LIBERTY (6-2) were less than gracious hosts to the WASHINGTON MYSTICS (0-8).

A 49-45 midpoint lead for the Liberty turned into a 90-79 victory over the Mystics when all of the dust had settled in this game. Sabrina Ionescu led New York with 24 points, while Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones had Double Doubles – 18 points & 15 rebounds for Stewart and 16 & 10 for Jones.

minnesota lynxA MAULING – This game pitted the home standing MINNESOTA LYNX (5-2) against the PHOENIX MERCURY (3-5).

The Lynx grabbed a 21-12 1st Quarter lead and never looked back from there. The final score in this lopsided clash was Minnesota 95  Mercury 71. Alissa Pili’s 20 points led the Lynx, with her teammate Napheesa Collier notching a Double Double of 14 points & 11 rebounds.
