BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEMIFINALS FROM DECEMBER 9th

NAIA

FIRST SEMIFINAL – In this game the NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS clashed with the visiting GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS. The Red Raiders parlayed their 7-0 1st Quarter lead into a 14-3 advantage by Halftime. Northwestern College continued to dominate after the break, ultimately winning by a final score of 35-10.

SECOND SEMIFINAL – The KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS hosted the COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES. The opening Quarter ended with the Seahawks on top 3-0 but by the Half the score stood at Keiser University 20  Coyotes 14. Neither team put up any points in the 3rd Quarter and the 4th ended in a 28-21 victory for the Seahawks. 

NCAA DIVISION TWO

SEMIFINAL ONE – The COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES OREDIGGERS took on their guests, the KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN BEARS. The Orediggers led 21-7 by the midpoint of the game. From there they shut out the Golden Bears the rest of the way, clobbering them by a final tally of 35-7.

SEMIFINAL TWO – Up next the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON were visited by the LENOIR-RHYNE UNIVERSITY BEARS. No close game here, as the Bison were up 34-7 by Halftime. After the break Harding University kept up the pressure, logging a 55-14 triumph over the Bears. 

NCAA DIVISION THREE

FIRST SEMIFINAL – The CORTLAND STATE RED DRAGONS traveled to face the RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE YELLOW JACKETS. Yet ANOTHER lopsided game in this semifinal. The Red Dragons led 14-0, 21-0 and 49-7 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively. The 4th ended in a 49-14 Cortland State victory.

SECOND SEMIFINAL – The defending National Champions – the NORTH CENTRAL COLLEGE CARDINALS – were on the road against the WARTBURG COLLEGE KNIGHTS. The Cardinals were on top 26-13 at the Half, but the Knights cut that to 26-20 in the 3rd Quarter. NCC outscored Wartburg College 8-7 in the 4th to win out 34-27. 

CCCAA

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE TIGERS against the COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO BULLDOGS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 14-14 deadlock come Halftime. A scoreless 3rd Quarter came next, then with just 5 seconds left in the game a 21-21 tie was broken when the Tigers notched a Field Goal, defeating the Bulldogs 24-21. * THE TIGERS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE CCCAA *

*** The NJCAA National Championship game will be played Wednesday night December 13th. The IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS will take on the EAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE LIONS. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00pm Eastern Time. ***
