FRONTIER CONFERENCE FRACAS – The CARROLL (MT) COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS visited the MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS in this game. A 7-0 1st Quarter lead for the Fighting Saints was trimmed to just 14-10 by Halftime. The Orediggers pulled to within 14-13 to end the 3rd Quarter but CC won out 21-19 in the 4th.
D3 OVER NAIA – The MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE CHOCTAWS snuck past their hosts the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS in a 17-14 thriller ### While the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-LACROSSE EAGLES won much more easily at the DAKOTA STATE TROJANS, spanking them by a score of 31-6.
NAIA OVER D3 – This game pitted the LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS against the visiting EAST TEXAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY TIGERS. The Wildcats led 13-0 in the opening Quarter and 24-7 at the break. After a scoreless 3rd Quarter, LCU consummated their win 34-14.
EAGLE ON EAGLE VIOLENCE – The REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Rottweilers) welcomed the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Fury). A 7-3 1st Quarter lead for Reinhardt was as close as it got. The home team left Faulkner behind from there, leading 21-3 at the midpoint and 36-3 to finish things off.
NCAA DIVISION TWO
DOWN GOES NUMBER TWO – The 4th ranked COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES OREDIGGERS played host to the number 2 team in the nation – the GRAND VALLEY STATE LAKERS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie turned into a 14-7 Orediggers advantage come Halftime. After the break the Lakers outscored their foes 21-17 but Colorado Mines held on for a 31-28 victory.
ALL NAME GAMES – The PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS treated the visiting WASHBURN UNIVERSITY ICHABODS like luggage, routing them 34-7 ### Meanwhile, the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES won 45-38 at the MISSOURI WESTERN STATE GRIFFONS ### And the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON survived a 23-21 visit from the ARKANSAS TECH WONDERBOYS.
THIS GAME WAS FOR THE BIRDS – The (12) INDIANA UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA CRIMSON HAWKS welcomed the (14) ASHLAND UNIVERSITY EAGLES last night. The Crimson Hawks parlayed a 14-7 edge at the Half into a victory by a final score of 24-17.
WORKING OVERTIME – Four Quarters weren’t enough for the FROSTBURG STATE BOBCATS and the home standing UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE CHARGERS. The Chargers were up 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 17-14 at the midpoint of the game. The Bobcats knotted things up at 24-24 to end Regulation, then won 27-24 in the extra session.
ROAD ROUTS – The UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS won a 49-24 beatdown of their hosts the NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE RANGERS ### And the (9) DELTA STATE STATESMEN manhandled the home standing MISSOURI S&T MINERS to the tune of 48-20.
NCAA DIVISION THREE
ONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – The HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY STUDENT PRINCES took it on the road against the HIRAM COLLEGE TERRIERS and utterly annihilated them 68-14 ### And the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT PLATTEVILLE PIONEERS eviscerated their hosts the LAKELAND COLLEGE MUSKIES to the tune of EIGHTY to THIRTEEN.
ONE-POINT WONDER – Last night the BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN COLLEGE PANTHERS traveled to take on the MCMURRY UNIVERSITY WARHAWKS. The Panthers kept the Warhawks off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter, leading them 13-0 at Halftime and 20-0 to end the 3rd Quarter. A furious McMurry rally in the 4th fell just short as BSC prevailed 20-19.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The BELOIT COLLEGE BUCCANEERS took the field against the visiting ROCKFORD UNIVERSITY REGENTS, defeating them by a score of 24-17 ### And the STEVENSON UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS won a 20-17 nail biter at the ROWAN UNIVERSITY PROFS.
BLOWOUTS – The BELHAVEN UNIVERSITY BLAZERS pretty much chewed up their guests the MILSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS in a 47-7 smackdown ### Elsewhere, the COLLEGE AT BROCKPORT GOLDEN EAGLES kicked around the home standing BUFFALO STATE BENGALS 42-6.
NJCAA
SHUTOUT – In the Sooner State, the INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES were visiting the NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN. The Pirates were on top 12-0, 20-0 and 27-0 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters respectively. In the 4th Independence College finished things off with a 44-0 road triumph.
