NCAA DIVISION TWO CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the undefeated NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS against the WEST LIBERTY UNIVERSITY HILLTOPPERS.
Points were plentiful as both offenses were clicking, and the Sharks were on top 55-48 by Halftime. After the break, Nova Southeastern put a bit more distance between themselves and the Hilltoppers, ultimately winning the game by a Century Club score of 111-101. Will Yoakum put up THIRTY-ONE points to lead NSU. * THE SHARKS ARE NCAA DIVISION TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONS *
NJCAA DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this division’s national tournament were the JOHN A. LOGAN COLLEGE VOLUNTEERS and the NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE RAIDERS.
The Raiders led the Volunteers 43-39 at the Half, but John A. Logan College came out of the locker room primed for a comeback. The Volunteers outscored their opponents 34-27 from there for a 73-70 triumph. Curt Lewis’ 18 points led JALC. * THE VOLUNTEERS ARE NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS *
NJCAA DIVISION TWO CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this game the MILWAUKEE AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE STORMERS took on the MACOMB COLLEGE MONARCHS.
By the midpoint the Stormers were out in front 45-36 and left the Monarchs further and further behind in the 2nd Half. Twenty points from Ke’Various Taylor led Milwaukee Area Technical College in scoring. * THE STORMERS ARE NJCAA DIVISION TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONS *
CCCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In California’s battle for the hoops crown, the FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS played the CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO RAMS.
This was a tale of two Halves, as the Hornets held a comfortable 43-27 advantage at the break, following which the Rams rallied a bit but still fell 83-73 to Fullerton College. Mezziah Oakman tossed in 15 points to lead the victors. * THE HORNETS ARE CCCAA CHAMPIONS *
