FRONTIER CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2 seeds – the MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS – clashed with the top seeded CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS in the title tilt.
The Fighting Saints were on top 32-29 at Halftime, and the Orediggers were chasing them most of the 2nd Half, as well. With 2 seconds left to play, Montana Tech’s Drew Huse hit a 3-point shot to give his team a 62-61 victory. Sindou Diallo’s 18 points led the winners in scoring. * THE OREDIGGERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE FRONTIER CONFERENCE *
CALIFORNIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top seeded UNIVERSITY OF SAINT KATHERINE FIREBIRDS took the court against the Cinderella 6 seeds – the BENEDICTINE UNIVERSITY AT MESA REDHAWKS.
The opening Half was a defensive epic, with the score knotted up at just 24-24 by the midpoint. After the break the Firebirds managed to get more and more distance from the Redhawks, ultimately defeating them by a score of 69-59. USK’s Bryan Baptiste led his team with 16 points. * THE FIREBIRDS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE CALIFORNIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE *
WOLVERINE-HOOSIER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this conference title game the 4 seeds – the LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES – did battle with the 3rd seeded MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS.
The Gray Wolves were all over Madonna University and led them 42-30 at Halftime. Lourdes University built on that lead over the Crusaders throughout the 2nd Half, ending with a comfortable 79-61 Upset victory. Charles Swain tossed in 21 points to lead the Gray Wolves while his teammate Nick Welch notched a Double-Double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. * THE GRAY WOLVES ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE WOLVERINE-HOOSIER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE *
RED RIVER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top seeded LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) faced the 4 seeds – the LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS.
By the midpoint of the game the Pilots were on top by a count of 31-28. From there LSU-Shreveport outscored the Wildcats 38-35 to take the crown by a final score of 69-63. Leondre Washington’s 25 points led the Pilots and Akeem White registered a Double-Double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. * THE PILOTS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE RED RIVER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE *
