COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RESULTS FROM NOVEMBER 27th

NAIA

Northwestern College Red RaidersFIRST QUARTERFINAL – The NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS took the field against the MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. The Red Raiders led 6-3 in the 1st Quarter and 19-10 come Halftime. In the 3rd Quarter the Knights pulled to within 19-17 before Northwestern College won out in the 4th 25-20.

HELMETGrand_View_IASECOND QUARTERFINAL – In this game the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS played the CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS. A 7-3 Cardinals edge in the opening Quarter became a 17-10 Vikings lead at the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with Concordia University trailing by just 17-16 but it was all Grand View U in the 4th as they won the game 31-16.

Lindsey_Wilson_KYTHIRD QUARTERFINAL – The defending National Champions of NAIA football – the LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS – did battle with the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEA HAWKS. This was a very lopsided affair as the Blue Raiders parlayed a 12-0 1st Quarter lead into a 40-6 advantage by the midpoint. From there Lindsey Wilson College coasted to a 54-12 blowout victory.

Morningside MustangsFOURTH QUARTERFINAL – This game pitted the MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS against the KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES. Another blowout was in the offing here, as the Mustangs seized a quick 21-0 lead over the Coyotes and never looked back from there. In the end Morningside College advanced to the Semifinals by a score of 58-21.

NCAA DIVISION TWO

Kutztown Golden Bears helmetROUND TWO: GAME ONE – In a very odd gridiron clash the KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN BEARS faced the UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN CHARGERS. The defenses dominated the 1st Half with neither team scoring. The Golden Bears led UNH 3-0 to end the 3rd Quarter, then defeated the Chargers 10-7 in the 4th.

Bowie State BulldogsROUND TWO: GAME TWO – The BOWIE STATE BULLDOGS squared off against the NEWBERRY COLLEGE WOLVES. This game flukishly paralleled the previous game as neither team scored in the 1st Half. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 7-7 tie before the 4th saw the Bulldogs win out 13-10.

Shepherd Univ Rams helmetROUND TWO: GAME THREE – The SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY RAMS battled the NOTRE DAME COLLEGE FALCONS (School Motto: “No, not THAT Notre Dame.”) A 7-7 opening Quarter tie was followed by a 21-14 Rams advantage at Halftime. A 24-24 deadlock ended the 3rd Quarter and in the final frame Shepherd University edged the Falcons 38-34. 

Northwest Missouri BearcatsROUND TWO: GAME FOUR – The storied NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE BEARCATS visited the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON. The Bearcats scored 7 points per Quarter, leading the Bison 7-0 in the 1st, 14-9 in the 2nd and 21-9 in the 3rd before polishing off Harding U 28-9 in the 4th.

Angelo State Rams helmetROUND TWO: GAME FIVE – In this game the ANGELO STATE RAMS and the UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-KEARNEY LOPERS went head to head. A scoreless opening Quarter was followed by a 13-0 ASU lead by the Half. The teams exchanged Touchdowns in the 3rd Quarter but went scoreless in the 4th as the Rams defeated the Lopers 20-7.

Valdosta_StROUND TWO: GAME SIX – The VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS played the UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA WOLVES. The 1st Quarter ended with the Blazers on top 14-7 before an action-packed 2nd found Valdosta State leading the Wolves 35-21. The Blazers outscored UWG 31-14 from there for a 66-35 triumph. 

Ferris State BulldogsROUND TWO: GAME SEVEN – The FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS welcomed the GRAND VALLEY STATE LAKERS. This game was a blowout as the Bulldogs managed to convert a 33-7 Halftime advantage into a 54-20 smackdown win over the Lakers when all was said and done.

Colorado Mines Orediggers NEWROUND TWO: GAME EIGHT – The COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES OREDIGGERS and the BEMIDJI STATE BEAVERS clashed next. The Orediggers led 6-0 in the 1st Quarter and 13-0 by the Half. From there it was almost all Colorado School of Mines as they eviscerated the Beavers by a final score of 55-6.

NCAA DIVISION THREE

Linfield WildcatsFIRST BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS were at the SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY JOHNNIES, the favorite team of my British readers. After a scoreless opening Quarter the Wildcats led 14-7 at the midpoint. That turned into a 28-14 Linfield College advantage to end the 3rd Quarter before the Wildcats had to withstand a furious Johnnies rally in the 4th for a 31-28 win.

Central Dutch helmetSECOND BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The CENTRAL COLLEGE DUTCH played the WHEATON COLLEGE THUNDER. The Dutch led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter but the Thunder went up 14-7 by Halftime. Central College pulled to within 14-10 in the 3rd Quarter before winning the game 30-28 in the 4th.

Mount Union Purple RaidersTHIRD BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS and the JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUE JAYS did battle. A 7-5 1st Quarter edge for the Purple Raiders became a 17-15 score at the Half. The 3rd Quarter saw Mount Union pull away from the Blue Jays 31-21 and defeating them in the 4th 45-35.

Rensselaer helmetFOURTH BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE ENGINEERS visited the CORTLAND STATE RED DRAGONS. Their 7-7 tie in the 1st Quarter remained unchanged at the midpoint. The Engineers were on top of the Red Dragons 14-7 to end the 3rd Quarter before winning out 21-14. 

Muhlenberg Mules helmetFIFTH BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The MUHLENBERG COLLEGE MULES took it on the road against the DELAWARE VALLEY UNIVERSITY AGGIES. This oddball game found the Mules leading DelVal 7-0 and 14-0 in the 1st and 2nd Quarters respectively. Neither team scored after the break so 14-0 was the final tally as well.

North_Central_ILSIXTH BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – This game pitted the NORTH CENTRAL COLLEGE CARDINALS – the defending National Champions – against the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT LACROSSE EAGLES. The Cardinals were up 20-7 at Halftime before the Eagles cut that to 20-13 in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th North Central College won the game 34-20.

MHBU CrusadersSEVENTH BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS took the field against the BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN COLLEGE PANTHERS. The Crusaders put up 21 points in each Half while limiting the Panthers to just 7 points in the 1st Quarter. The final score was UMHB 42  BSC 7.

Whitewater Warhawks helmet newEIGHTH BERTH IN THE QUARTERFINALS – The UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER WARHAWKS and the DEPAUW UNIVERSITY TIGERS faced each other. This game was all one-way as the Warhawks folded, spindled and mutilated the hapless Tigers to the tune of 45-0.

    IMO – Alabama lost their game due to struggling and going into 4 OT’s against unranked Auburn. Brother was I rooting for Auburn!!

  6. One important thing is that if you are searching for a student loan you may find that you will want a co-signer. There are many conditions where this is correct because you could find that you do not use a past credit history so the bank will require you have someone cosign the borrowed funds for you.
