COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM NOVEMBER 13th

HEADLINES

West Florida Argonauts helmetFOUR OVER TWO – In NCAA Division Two the 4th ranked defending national champions, the UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA ARGONAUTS, welcomed the number 2 team in the nation – the VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS. By Halftime the Argonauts held a 24-21 edge over the Blazers. The 3rd Quarter ended with the University of West Florida on top 45-35 before putting it away in the 4th, 61-42.

Southwestern College Moundbuilders NEWDOWN GOES NUMBER FIVE – Over in the NAIA the number 13 SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS took it on the road to battle the 5th ranked KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES. The Coyotes led 7-0 in the opening Quarter but the Moundbuilders were up 13-7 at the break. Southwestern College had a 28-21 advantage in the 3rd Quarter and ultimately won the game 42-24.

Merchant Marine AcademySERVICE ACADEMY MANIA – This game pitted the UNITED STATES MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY MARINERS against their archrivals the COAST GUARD ACADEMY BEARS. The Mariners seized a quick 21-0 lead in the 1st Quarter and never looked back from there. In the end they embarrassed the Bears by a score of 49-14 in their own house.

Benedictine RavensWE WENT TO A FOOTBALL GAME BUT A BASKETBALL GAME BROKE OUT – Back to the NAIA for this game between the BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS and the visiting MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS. Points flew like shrapnel as the Ravens led the Pioneers 42-24 at Halftime, then won this shootout by a final tally of 70-58.

HillsdaleINSTANT CLASSIC – NCAA Division Two’s HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS welcomed the OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY PANTHERS. The Chargers were chasing the Panthers 10-7 at the Half and 17-7 to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Hillsdale College came from behind for a 21-17 victory.

Montana Western Bulldogs NEWOTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The 23rd ranked UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS needed Double Overtime to do it, but they toppled the number 16 ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS 50-42   ###   And the CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS knocked off the 18th ranked COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES 21-6.

Saint Mary SpiresWORKIN’ OVERTIME – In a defensive epic the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY SPIRES won 14-7 in OT at the TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS    ###     And the (14) SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS defeated their hosts the (20) UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS 26-20 in the extra session.

Arizona Christian Univ helmet GOODBLOWOUTS – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM incinerated the WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS (should be the Flying Ws) 54-16   ###   Meanwhile the WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN embarrassed the GRACELAND UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS 71-6   ###   And the DORDT UNIVERSITY DEFENDERS won at the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES 77-6. 

NCCAA

North Greenville CrusadersIT’S ALWAYS GREENER – The NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS manhandled the visiting SHORTER UNIVERSITY HAWKS to the tune of 56-0    ###    And the GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY PANTHERS smacked around their guests the MINNESOTA-MORRIS COUGARS 47-21. 

Olivet Nazarene Tigers helmet NEWSENIOR DAY – The OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS (should be the Purple Tigers) marked Senior Day with a game against the ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS. A scoreless 1st Quarter was followed by a 7-0 Tigers lead at Halftime. From there ONU and the Lakers exchanged 7 points apiece as the Tigers won out by a score of 14-7.

Concordia_MICARDS ON THE ROAD – The CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS visited the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS. The opening Quarter ended in a 7-7 tie before the Cardinals went on top of the Cougars 16-7 by the break. It was all Concordia in the 2nd Half as the Cardinals went on to a 37-7 triumph. 

NCAA DIVISION TWO

Kutztown Golden Bears helmetOTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The 14th ranked KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN BEARS toppled the number 12 and forever overrated “ROCK” of SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY by a final score of 38-32    ###     And the 16th ranked OUACHITA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY TIGERS knocked off the number 13 HENDERSON STATE REDDIES 31-28.

Colorado Mesa Mavericks helmetTHIRTEEN TO TEN – The COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS traveled to face the SOUTH DAKOTA M&T HARDROCKERS and defeated them 13-10    ###     And by that same 13-10 score the UNIVERSITY OF INDIANAPOLIS GREYHOUNDS won at the TRUMAN STATE BULLDOGS. 

Concord UniversityALL NAME GAMES – The CONCORD UNIVERSITY MOUNTAIN LIONS won a 28-25 thriller against the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT PEMBROKE BRAVES   ###   The KENTUCKY STATE THOROBREDS crushed their hosts the ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET 41-17   ###   And the UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS obliterated the home standing SOUTHERN ARKANSAS UNIVERSITY MULERIDERS 73-37.

NCAA DIVISION THREE

John Carroll Blue Streaks helmetUPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY BLUE STREAKS won 29-28 at the number 20 BALDWIN WALLACE YELLOW JACKETS   ###   Meanwhile the UW-RIVER FALLS FALCONS logged a 28-21 road win over the 19th ranked UW-OSHKOSH TITANS   ###   And the WABASH COLLEGE LITTLE GIANTS toppled the number 25 DEPAUW TIGERS 42-35.

Dickinson Red DevilsPUTTING IN OVERTIME – The DICKINSON COLLEGE RED DEVILS welcomed the URSINUS COLLEGE BEARS yesterday. The Red Devils led 20-3 at the Half before the Bears forced OT with a 20-20 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session Dickinson College notched a Touchdown and PAT, then shut out Ursinus College for a 27-20 victory.

University of New England Nor'eastersALL-NAME GAMES – The UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND NOR’EASTERS visited the CURRY COLLEGE COLONELS and defeated them 55-43   ###   Elsewhere the ANNA MARIA COLLEGE AMCATS routed the MARITIME COLLEGE PRIVATEERS 31-7   ###   And the FRANKLIN & MARSHALL COLLEGE DIPLOMATS tripled up on the GETTYSBURG COLLEGE BULLETS 42-14.

NJCAA  

Hutchinson Blue DragonsJAYHAWK CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS – In the First Semifinal the defending national champs – the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS – easily won 42-0 on the road at the INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES    ###     And in the Second Semifinal the GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS defeated the visiting BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES 27-16.

Tyler College Apaches helmet NEWBLOWOUT BECOMES A SQUEAKER – The TYLER COLLEGE APACHES visited the KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS on Saturday. The Apaches grabbed a quick 24-3 advantage in the 1st Quarter but the Rangers cut that to a 24-17 margin to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Tyler College had to hold on tight for a 34-31 victory. 

iowa central college tritons helmetHOME STAND – This game pitted the IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS against their guests the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS. By Halftime the Panthers were on top 14-7. A scoreless 3rd Quarter was followed by an action packed 4th in which the Tritons came roaring from behind to win the game 27-21.
