GENERALS CONQUER DIVISION TWO – NCAA Division Three’s WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY GENERALS took it on the road to face NCAA Division Two’s EMORY & HENRY COLLEGE WASPS. (This is like when an FCS team upsets an FBS team) A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 21-14 edge for the Wasps at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Generals up 24-21 before winning the game 30-28.
TUSSLE IN THE TOP FOUR – Up in NCAA Division Two the number 2 team in the nation – the VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS – welcomed the 4th ranked UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA WOLVES. The Blazers held a 27-13 lead by the Half. The Wolves pulled to within 33-27 in the 3rd Quarter, with their rally falling just short in the 4th as Valdosta State held on for a 36-34 victory.
EASY AS ONE, TWO, THREE – Over in the NAIA the (1) LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS won 41-30 at the (22) BETHEL (TN) WILDCATS ### The (2) NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS obliterated the visiting (20) DORDT UNIVERSITY DEFENDERS 63-28 ### And the (3) MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS utterly annihilated the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES 70-7.
USCAA GAME OF THE WEEK – In the United States Collegiate Athletic Association the WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS hosted the CAPP ACADEMY CRUSADERS. A 7-0 1st Quarter lead for the Mechanics remained unchanged come Halftime. That became a 14-8 Williamson advantage to close out the 3rd Quarter and finally a 26-8 victory for the Mechanics.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER TEN – In the NJCAA the BUTLER COLLEGE GRIZZLIES visited the country’s number 10 GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS. The Grizzlies put the Broncbusters on Upset Alert with a 14-10 edge at the Half. That turned into a 17-17 tie in the 3rd Quarter before Butler College went on to a 24-23 win.
SPIRIT OF EIGHTY-ONE – In NCAA Division Three the 5th ranked UNIVERSITY OF SAINT JOHN JOHNNIES took the field against the visiting COLLEGE OF SAINT SCHOLASTICA SAINTS. The Johnnies seized a quick 33-0 lead in the opening Quarter and never looked back from there on their way to an EIGHTY-ONE to NOTHING triumph.

UNLUCKY THIRTEEN GOES DOWN – The MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS were visited by the 13th ranked ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS. A 17-3 Orediggers lead at the Half was reduced to 21-17 in the 3rd Quarter. Neither team scored in the 4th, so 21-17 was the final count as well.
OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The LOUISIANA COLLEGE WILDCATS defeated their guests the (14) LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS by a score of 31-24 ### Meanwhile the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS downed the (17) OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS 43-30 ### And the WEBBER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WARRIORS upset the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be Fury) 38-35.
GETTING A JUMP ON THE WEEKEND – On Friday night the SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE found themselves on the road against the SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS (should be Tomcats). A 14-14 opening Quarter tie became a 21-17 Bobcats edge to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th the Fire came from behind to win out 24-21.
ROAD WARRIORS – The POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS paid a visit to the UNION COLLEGE BULLDOGS and downed them 27-20 ### Meanwhile the ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM were at the OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE STATE AGGIES (should be Okies) and won 42-35 ### And the EVANGEL UNIVERSITY VALOR won 37-29 at the MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS.
HOME STANDS – The ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS bounced the SAINT AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES by a score of 35-21 ### The FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS routed the BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES 35-13 ### And the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES totaled the FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY LIONS 38-7.

TORNADO WARNING – The GENEVA COLLEGE GOLDEN TORNADOES were defending their home field against the WAYNESBURG UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS yesterday. The Golden Tornadoes parlayed a 14-0 1st Quarter lead into a 28-3 advantage at the break. From there Geneva College coasted to a 49-3 blowout victory over the Yellow Jackets.
TROJANS VERSUS SPARTANS – In this game the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS played host to the MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS. The Spartans were on top 14-6 Halftime before the Trojans cut that to 14-12 to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Trinity International came from behind to win it 21-14.
SAGU, SAG ME – The SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS took on the visiting WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS (should be the Flying Ws). The Lions led 31-10 at the Half and 47-22 in the 3rd Quarter. The teams exchanged a Touchdown apiece in the 4th for a 54-29 beatdown by SAGU.
THEY. CAN. SCORE. FIFTY-FIIIIVE – The GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY PANTHERS faced the CROWN COLLEGE STORM on Saturday. The Panthers led the Storm 14-6, 35-22 and 48-22 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively. In the 4th, Greenville University consummated their authoritative win by a final tally of 55-30.

UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The LENOIR-RHYNE UNIVERSITY BEARS were on the road against the number 18 WINGATE UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS and routed them 31-6 ### And the 23rd ranked WESTERN COLORADO UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS toppled the number 22 COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS by a score of 23-9.
WORKIN’ OVERTIME – The UPPER IOWA UNIVERSITY PEACOCKS squared off against the WAYNE STATE (NE) WILDCATS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie turned into a 28-14 Peacocks advantage at Halftime. The Wildcats forced Overtime with a 35-35 tie to end the 4th Quarter. In the extra session Upper Iowa U emerged with a 42-41 victory.
ONE-POINT WONDERS – The DELTA STATE STATESMEN played host to the SHORTER UNIVERSITY HAWKS and edged them 14-13 ### Elsewhere the SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY RED RAIDERS won 24-23 at the EAST STROUDSBURG UNIVERSITY WARRIORS ### And the ARKANSAS TECH WONDER BOYS snuck past their hosts the SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA BULLDOGS 15-14.
SOMETHING ABOUT MARY – The UNIVERSITY OF MARY MARAUDERS took the field against the visiting CONCORDIA-SAINT PAUL GOLDEN BEARS. By Halftime the Marauders were out in front by a score of 21-10. After the break UM added 21 more points to the 7 mustered by the Golden Bears as the Marauders won the game 42-17.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The KENTUCKY STATE THOROBREDS won a 42-35 game on the road against the TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN TIGERS ### Meanwhile the SOUTH DAKOTA M&T HARDROCKERS won 13-10 at the BLACK HILLS STATE YELLOW JACKETS ### And the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON edged their hosts the SOUTHERN ARKANSAS UNIVERSITY MULERIDERS 44-40.
NCAA DIVISION THREE
UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE ENGINEERS won a defense-heavy 14-11 brawl with the number 15 ITHACA COLLEGE BOMBERS ### And the 20th ranked JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUE JAYS brought down the number 18 SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY RIVER HAWKS in a 38-17 rout.
MASSACRE – This game pitted the NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY PRAIRIE WOLVES against the traveling SIMPSON COLLEGE STORM. The Prairie Wolves parlayed a 10-7 1st Quarter lead over the Storm into a 27-7 advantage by Halftime. From there Nebraska Wesleyan kept rolling all the way to a 44-14 triumph.
CLOSE CALLS – The 12th ranked UNION (NY) COLLEGE DUTCHMEN needed Overtime to defeat their guests the HOBART COLLEGE STATESMEN by a score of 27-20 ### Elsewhere the number 24 WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON COLLEGE PRESIDENTS won a tough 28-24 fight at the GROVE CITY COLLEGE WOLVERINES.
COOL NAME BOWL – The CONCORDIA-MOORHEAD COBBERS welcomed the AUGSBURG UNIVERSITY AUGGIES yesterday. The Auggies were on top 14-7 in the 1st Quarter but the Cobbers led 27-14 at the break. The Cobbers stayed in control the rest of the way as they won the game 44-21.
OVERTIME ON THE ROAD – The TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS won 30-24 in the extra session at the HAMILTON COLLEGE CONTINENTALS ### Meanwhile the AMHERST COLLEGE MAMMOTHS won in OT against the WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY CARDINALS 16-14 ### And the MORAVIAN COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS defeated the MCDANIEL COLLEGE GREEN TERROR 37-31.

OTHER UPSET IN THE RANKINGS – The KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS welcomed the number 15 TRINITY VALLEY COLLEGE CARDINALS on Saturday. By the midpoint of the game the Rangers put the Cardinals on Upset Alert with a 17-9 lead. From there Kilgore College went on to a 34-19 win.
WHEN RANKED TEAMS CLASH – This game pitted the number 2 team in the nation – the IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS – against the visiting 6th ranked IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS. The teams were tied 7-7 in the opening Quarter but the Reivers were up 10-7 come Halftime. Both teams scored 10 points in the 2nd Half as Iowa Western edged the Tritons 20-17.
INSTANT CLASSICS – The DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS took the field against their guests the HIGHLAND COLLEGE SCOTTIES and defeated them in a 27-21 thriller ### And the MONROE COLLEGE MUSTANGS eked out a 9-7 road win against the NASSAU COUNTY COLLEGE LIONS.
SECOND HALF COMEBACK – The EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE WARRIORS clashed with the visiting COAHOMA COLLEGE TIGERS. Neither team scored in the 1st Quarter but at Halftime the Tigers were out in front 12-0. The Warriors dominated the 2nd Half, ultimately beating their opponents by a score of 30-18.
