NUMBER FIVE TAKES A FALL – In NCAA Division 2 the NEWBERRY COLLEGE WOLVES hosted the nation’s 5th ranked LENOIR-RHYNE UNIVERSITY BEARS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 14-14 score at the Half. In the 3rd Quarter the Wolves went up 28-14 then held on in the 4th for a 28-21 Upset victory.
DOWN GOES NUMBER EIGHT – Down in NCAA Division 3 the URSINUS COLLEGE BEARS visited the number 8 team in the country – the MUHLENBERG COLLEGE MULES. By Halftime the score was knotted up at 14-14. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 28-28 deadlock, following which the Bears won it in the 4th by a final score of 42-35.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER TEN – Up in the NAIA the 16th ranked KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES took it on the road against the number 10 BETHEL COLLEGE (KS) THRESHERS. The Threshers were out in front 14-7 in the opening Quarter and 21-17 at the midpoint. Bethel College held a 24-17 advantage to end the 3rd Quarter but the Coyotes stormed from behind in the 4th to win the game 31-24.
AND ANOTHER NUMBER TEN COMES TUMBLING AFTER – Back to NCAA D2 for this Upset. The number 18 TIFFIN UNIVERSITY DRAGONS traveled to face the 10th ranked UNIVERSITY OF INDIANAPOLIS GREYHOUNDS. Halftime saw the Greyhounds clinging to a 10-7 edge which expanded to 17-13 in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th the Dragons roared ahead for a 20-17 triumph.
HISTORY IS MADE – The LINCOLN UNIVERSITY (CA) OAKLANDERS are playing their first season of intercollegiate football. Yesterday they notched their FIRST EVER VICTORY while visiting the WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY BEARCATS. A 14-7 1st Quarter lead for the Oaklanders remained unchanged at the Half. After the break Lincoln University got more and more separation from the Bearcats, going on top 27-9 in the 3rd Quarter before winning the game 34-9 in the 4th.
NAIA VS NCAA DIVISION THREE – The NAIA’s SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS defeated the NCAA’s visiting MILLSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS by a final tally of 38-21 ### And the NCAA’s BIRMINGHAM SOUTHERN COLLEGE PANTHERS won 55-6 at the ARKANSAS BAPTIST COLLEGE BUFFALOS. With the NAIA and NCAA D3 already winning one week each this season, this week’s tie means both divisions are knotted up for 2021 so far.
OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS took it on the road against the number 24 team in the nation – the ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS. The Orediggers parlayed a tight 3-0 1st Quarter edge into a 24-7 advantage by Halftime. The Battlin’ Bears cut that to a 31-23 lead in the 3rd Quarter followed by Montana Tech holding on in the 4th to win it 31-29.
SHUTOUTS – The SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS blanked the visiting UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY SPIRES on Saturday 44-0 ### Meanwhile the NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS won 38-0 against the DOANE UNIVERSITY TIGERS ### And the BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS eviscerated the CLARKE UNIVERSITY PRIDE to the tune of SIXTY-EIGHT to NOTHING!
INSTANT CLASSICS – The SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE survived a 20-14 visit from the THOMAS MORE UNIVERSITY SAINTS ### The TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS won 28-21 at the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS ### And the LAWRENCE TECH BLUE DEVILS defeated the SAINT AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES 29-24.
ALL-NAME GAME – In this game the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES took the field against their guests the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS. The Gyrenes led 16-7 at the Half and 30-20 to end the 3rd Quarter. Ave Maria University went on to win the game 37-26 in the 4th.
ROAD WARRIORS – The UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES won a 32-28 thriller at the HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS ### Meanwhile the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS hammered the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS 51-13 ### And the SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS edged the SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY SAINTS 20-13.
ODDBALL CLASSIC – The WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS played host to the KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. The Royals led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 24-0 at Halftime. Following a scoreless 3rd Quarter, the 4th saw a furious Knights rally fall short as Warner University held on for a 27-21 victory.
GENEVA ON THE ROAD – The GENEVA COLLEGE GOLDEN TORNADOS traveled to take on the SAINT VINCENT COLLEGE BEARCATS. By the Half the Golden Tornados had compiled a 21-10 advantage. The 3rd Quarter ended with Geneva College on top 35-10 and the 4th with a 42-24 win for the Golden Tornados.
FIGHTING SPIRIT – This game pitted the OTTAWA UNIVERSITY (AZ) SPIRIT against the visiting TEXAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY RAMS. The Spirit held a commanding 24-7 lead at the break. In the 2nd Half the Rams came alive, but had dug too deep a hole for themselves as Ottawa University triumphed 45-31.
A TALE OF TWO HALVES – The TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS found themselves on the road against the IOWA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS. The Tigers dominated 26-16 in the 1st Half but from there the Trojans asserted themselves. A 42-32 Trinity International lead in the 3rd Quarter ultimately became a 49-32 Trojans win.
NAILBITER – The CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS hosted the ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS yesterday. The Cardinals grabbed a quick 10-0 advantage in the opening Quarter, followed by a scoreless 2nd Quarter. The 3rd ended with the Lakers pulling to within 10-7 and the 4th with Concordia U winning out 16-14.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The number 23 MIDWESTERN STATE MUSTANGS paid a visit to the 14th ranked ANGELO STATE RAMS. The Mustangs saw their 14-7 1st Quarter lead switch to a 17-14 Rams edge by Halftime. After the break Midwestern State shut out their opponents while adding 21 points for themselves, cementing the Upset 35-17.
PUTTING IN OVERTIME – The MISSOURI S&T MINERS won 51-45 in Overtime at the WAYNE STATE WARRIORS ### Meanwhile the (2) FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS eked out a 47-45 OT win over the SAGINAW VALLEY STATE CARDINALS ### And in DOUBLE OVERTIME the FROSTBURG STATE BOBCATS defeated the UNIVERSITY OF CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES 30-24.
BET ON THE MORE EXOTIC TEAM NAME – The TEXAS A&M AT KINGSVILLE JAVELINAS found themselves on the road against the EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY GREYHOUNDS. The Greyhounds led 7-6 in the 1st Quarter only to see the Javelinas out in front 13-10 at the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with Texas A&M at Kingsville on top 29-10 and in the 4th the Javelinas won it 36-10.
SHUTOUTS – The CALIFORNIA (PA) UNIVERSITY VULCANS clobbered the visiting MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY MARAUDERS by a count of 30-0 ### And the MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE CHOCTAWS folded, spindled and mutilated the UNIVERSITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE EAGLES to the tune of SIXTY-THREE to NOTHING!

WORKIN’ OVERTIME – The MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY BIG BLUE won a 27-21 Overtime affair at the AUGUSTANA COLLEGE VIKINGS ### Meanwhile the GRINNELL COLLEGE PIONEERS beat the LAWRENCE COLLEGE VIKINGS 35-28 in OT ### The EUREKA COLLEGE RED DEVILS won out 58-57 in the extra session at the ROCKFORD UNIVERSITY REGENTS ### And the TRINE UNIVERSITY THUNDER triumphed 31-30 over the MOUNT SAINT JOSEPH UNIVERSITY LIONS.
BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES – The UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND NOR’EASTERS swept onto the home field of the ALFRED STATE PIONEEERS. A 13-0 Nor’easters lead in the opening Quarter turned into a 14-13 Pioneers edge at the Half. The University of New England was back out in front 20-17 to end the 3rd Quarter. 20-17 was the final score as well.
COOL NAME GAMES – The CAL LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY KINGSMEN notched a 25-21 road win at the PUGET SOUND UNIVERSITY LOGGERS ### The FRANKLIN & MARSHALL COLLEGE DIPLOMATS blanked the MCDANIEL COLLEGE GREEN TERROR 35-0 ### And the LAKE FOREST COLLEGE FORESTERS mangled their hosts the KNOX COLLEGE PRAIRIE FIRE 41-10.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – The PACIFIC UNIVERSITY BOXERS paid a visit to the POMONA-PITZER COLLEGE SAGEHENS. The Boxers led 21-14 in the 1st Quarter but the Sagehens went up 28-24 by Halftime. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter with Pacific University coming back for a 38-35 victory in the 4th.
A TALE OF TWO POLAR BEAR TEAMS – The OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY POLAR BEARS feasted on the home standing WILMINGTON COLLEGE QUAKERS in a 62-27 laugher ### And the BOWDOIN COLLEGE POLAR BEARS fell to the HAMILTON COLLEGE CONTINENTALS by a final score of 17-6.
EASY AS ONE, TWO, THREE – The number 1 team in the nation – the SNOW COLLEGE BADGERS – obliterated the MCDOUGAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTE BISON in an EIGHTY-FOUR to SEVEN laugher ### Meanwhile the (2) GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS won a much tighter 15-6 affair at the HIGHLAND COLLEGE SCOTTIES ### And the (3) KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS shut out the NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN 34-0.
ONE POINT WONDER – In this game the COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS hosted the HOCKING COLLEGE HAWKS on Saturday. The Hawks led 3-0 in the opening Quarter and 10-0 at Halftime. The Chaparrals pulled to within 13-7 in the 3rd Quarter and pulled off a 14-13 comeback win in the 4th.
HAPPY HOME STANDS – The (4) IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS welcomed the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS and smacked them down 64-6 ### The TYLER COLLEGE APACHES crushed the RPA WILDCATS by a score of 48-7 ### And the CLC-BRAINERD RAIDERS (should be the Brainstorms) won a 27-23 thriller against the MINNESOTA WEST BLUE JAYS.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – This game pitted the MINNESOTA STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE SPARTANS against their hosts the VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN. The Ironmen fought back from being down 20-7 in the 1st Quarter to leading 21-20 at Halftime. The score was knotted up at 35-35 to end the 3rd Quarter before the Spartans won 42-35 in the 4th.
EIGHTY-FOUR – The IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS took the field against the visiting GORDON FINE ARTS & SPORTS ACADEMY PANTHERS yesterday. The Tritons exploded for a 42-0 lead in the opening Quarter and never looked back. When all was said and done Iowa Central College had utterly annihilated GFASA by a score of EIGHTY-FOUR to SIX.
