Concordia_MIDOWN GOES NUMBER TWO – The CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS played host to the 2nd ranked team in the nation – the MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. In this very odd game the Knights grabbed a quick 7-0 lead in the 1st Quarter, only to see the Cardinals go up 16-14 by Halftime. After the break the defenses dominated and 16-14 wound up being the final score as well.

Arizona Christian Firestorm alternateOTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The 24th ranked ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM took it on the road against the 16th ranked OTTAWA UNIVERSITY (AZ) SPIRIT and toppled them 45-35    ###    And the INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS downed their guests the number 22 SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY SAINTS in a 17-10 clash.

Point University good helmetFOURTH QUARTER COMEBACK – The POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS traveled to face the BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 20-7 advantage for the Rambling Rams at the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Skyhawks pulling to within 20-14 before exploding in the 4th for a magnificent 28-23 comeback victory.

Edward Waters Tigers helmetHISTORY – The EDWARD WATERS COLLEGE TIGERS welcomed the ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET, who were playing in their FIRST EVER intercollegiate football game. At first a spectator would have thought it was the other way around, as the Flying Fleet led 13-0 in the opening Quarter and 20-7 by the midpoint. The Tigers shut out Erskine College in the 2nd Half while notching a Touchdown in both quarters for a nail-biting 21-20 win.

missouri baptist helmetTAKING OUT THE TROJANS – Two losses for two Trojan teams: The MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS defeated the visiting TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS by a final score of 24-14    ###    And the 9th ranked UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS managed a 24-10 victory over their guests, the TAYLOR UNIVERSITY TROJANS.

ON THE R.O.A.D. – In this game the SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS found themselves on the road against the LYON COLLEGE SCOTS, the Notre Dame for people of Scots descent. The 1st Quarter ended in a 7-7 tie. Halftime saw the Lions clinging to a slender 14-13 edge which became 21-13 in the 3rd Quarter and when all was said and done SAGU had defeated the Scots 27-20.

Kansas Wesleyan helmet NEWONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – The KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES took the field against the visiting STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS and utterly annihilated them to the tune of SIXTY-NINE to FOURTEEN    ###    And the REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Rottweilers) manhandled their hosts the UNION COLLEGE BULLDOGS 57-16.

saint-xavier-cougars-helmet-newCOUGARS GROWLING – This game pitted the number 14 team in the nation – the SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS – against the visiting LAWRENCE TECH BLUE DEVILS. The Cougars led 14-7 in the 1st Quarter and 17-7 at the break. The Blue Devils made it a 17-13 game to end the 3rd Quarter before Saint Xavier University went on to win by a final tally of 31-21.  

Lindsey_Wilson_KYROAD WARRIORS – The (4) LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS won a 35-14 affair at the (19) GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS   ###   Meanwhile the BETHEL (TN) WILDCATS routed the home-standing CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS 39-14   ###   And the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (Furies) won 38-22 at the KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS.
