Because of so many reschedulings caused by Covid last fall here are football scores from the past few days.


Roosevelt LakersHISTORY WAS MADE – The ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS played their first ever intercollegiate football game. It was played in snow … in freezing temperatures … but they STILL won, notching the first win in program history! Their opponents were the visiting SAINT AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES. Recently, Roosevelt University merged with Robert Morris University (IL), whose sports teams were called the Eagles but in the merger all teams will now go by the RU team name Lakers.

As for this game the Lakers, boasting members of the old Robert Morris-Illinois football program due to the merger, were on top 13-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter. That became a 20-6 advantage by Halftime. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter, then exchanged Touchdowns in the 4th for a final count of Roosevelt U 27  Fighting Bees 13.

Saint Andrews University KnightsCOMEBACK KIDS – The SAINT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS took it on the road against the BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS yesterday. The Rambling Rams led 14-7 in the opening Quarter and 20-9 at the Half. The Knights exploded in the 3rd Quarter to take a 42-27 lead but Bluefield College countered by going up 43-42 in the 4th. The Knights notched a late TD to emerge with a 48-43 victory.   

saint-xavier-cougars-helmet-newCOUGARS ON THE ROAD – The SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS traveled to face the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS. The 1st Half of this gridiron grudge match ended in a 9-9 deadlock, followed by the Cougars grabbing a 12-9 edge to end the 3rd Quarter. The Fighting Saints knotted things up at 12-12 only to see Saint Xavier University go on to win the game by a score of 19-12.   

Thomas More SaintsMORE ROAD WARRIORS – The THOMAS MORE COLLEGE SAINTS found themselves visiting the CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY PHOENIX on Saturday and bested them in a 19-14 thriller   ###   Meanwhile the GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS topped their hosts the UNIVERSITY OF THE CUMBERLANDS PATRIOTS 27-20   ###   And the OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS eviscerated the MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS 62-3 in their own house.

Lindsey_Wilson_KYSHUTOUT – The LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS welcomed the UNIVERSITY OF PIKEVILLE BEARS. The Blue Raiders utterly dominated the Bears on both sides of the ball, keeping them off the scoreboard for the entire game while racking up points with their offense. When the dust had settled Lindsey Wilson College sent UPike back home reeling from a 49-0 beatdown.   

Kentucky Christian UGOOD DAY FOR THE KNIGHTS – The KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS started their Wuhan Flu Makeup Season with a trip to take on the UNION COLLEGE BULLDOGS. The Knights took charge early, leading the Bulldogs by a score of 14-0 in the 1st Quarter and 21-6 at the break. In the 2nd Half Kentucky Christian University outscored Union College 17-7 to win out 38-13.

Reinhardt U Eagles helmetCAN WE STOP AT HALFTIME? – The REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Rottweilers) welcomed the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Furies). This was no real contest as Reinhardt University parlayed a 6-0 edge in the opening Quarter into a 27-0 lead at the midpoint of the game. After the break RU consummated a 34-10 victory over Faulkner University. 

Marian Knights helmet newONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – This game pitted the MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS against their guests, the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS. A 30-0 1st Quarter lead for the Knights became a daunting 49-0 advantage by Halftime. From there Marian University coasted to a “just burn the game tape, losers” triumph over the Trojans to the tune of SIXTY-NINE to TWELVE!
