FIRST RESPONDERS & MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY – The SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS (should be the Tomcats) welcomed the WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS yesterday. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Royals led 7-6 at Halftime. That became a 10-6 edge in the 3rd Quarter before the Bobcats tied things up at 20-20 in the 4th. In Overtime STU won out 27-20.
S.A.M. – SERVICE ACADEMY MANIA – Saturday saw the annual rivalry game between the UNITED STATES MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY MARINERS and the COAST GUARD ACADEMY BEARS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 10-7 Mariners advantage at the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with the USMMA up 17-7 before exchanging Touchdowns with the Bears in the 4th to win it 24-14.
VIKING VALLEY – The VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS traveled to face the DAKOTA STATE TROJANS. The Vikings kept the Trojans off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter as they led 7-0 in the opening Quarter and 14-0 by the midpoint. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter and Valley City State won by a final count of 14-6.
COMMUNITY BOWL – The DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BLUE TIGERS took on the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES in this game. The Blue Tigers held just a 14-10 edge at Halftime but then went on to outscore the Jimmies 21-6 after the break. The final tally was Dakota Wesleyan 35 Jamestown 16.
HAPPY SENIOR DAY – The BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS welcomed the MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS for their Senior Day event. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Ravens were on top 10-0 at the Half. That became a 24-0 lead in the 3rd Quarter and ultimately a 37-0 shutout victory.
UNHAPPY SENIOR DAY – The AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES took it on the road against the WEBBER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The Gyrenes led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 17-7 by the break. From there Ave Maria University outscored the Warriors 9-7 to win the game 26-14.
TOTAL ANNIHILATION – This game pitted the DORDT COLLEGE DEFENDERS against the visiting HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS. The Defenders seized a quick 14-0 lead in the opening Quarter and never looked back from there. In the end Dordt College obliterated the Broncos to the tune of SIXTY-FIVE to NOTHING.
RED RAIDERS ROLLING – The NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS played host to the BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS on Saturday. A 14-7 1st Quarter edge for the Red Raiders became 28-7 at Halftime and 35-7 in the 3rd Quarter. In the end Northwestern College won out 38-21.
HOWL OF THE COYOTES – The KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES took the field against the visiting OTTAWA UNIVERSITY BRAVES. The Braves shocked the Salinas, KS home crowd with a 17-7 1st Quarter lead. By the Half, calm had been restored with the Coyotes on top 20-17. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 27-23 Kansas Wesleyan advantage and the final score was Coyotes 34 Ottawa U 23.
HOME STANDS – The CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY EAGLES managed defensive perfection in their 45-2 victory over the MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS ### And the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS (should be the Zebras) defeated the CULVER-STOCKTON COLLEGE WILDCATS 44-28.

ROAD ‘RILLAS – In this Covid-decimated season there’s just one D2 score to note. The PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS visited the MISSOURI WESTERN GRIFFONS. By Halftime the Gorillas were on top 10-0 but the Griffons made that 17-7 in the 3rd Quarter. The 4th saw Pitt State win out 20-7.
