DOWN GOES NUMBER SIX – The Upset of the day came in the game between the SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS and their hosts the 6th ranked KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES. The Moundbuilders led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 14-7 at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Southwestern College on top 35-21 before winning it 42-21.
WORKIN’ OVERTIME – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM welcomed the WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS (should be the Flying W’s). After a scoreless opening Quarter the Firestorm held a 14-7 advantage at the Half. That became a 21-14 lead in the 3rd Quarter before the Pioneers forced Overtime with a 28-28 tie. In the extra session Arizona Christian University won out 31-28.
HOW SWEDE IT IS! – The BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES took it on the road against the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS yesterday. The Swedes watched a 6-0 1st Quarter lead turn into a 7-6 Warriors edge by the midpoint. Sterling College was in front 21-6 going into the 4th Quarter, but Bethany College exploded for 20 points for a spectacular 26-21 comeback win.
ROAD WARRIORS – The WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN smacked down the home-standing GRACELAND UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS 33-6 ### Meanwhile the CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY EAGLES won 23-13 at the MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS ### And the 2-time defending National Champions, the MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS, obliterated the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES 54-7.
HAPPY HOMECOMING – The BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS played their 2020 Homecoming game against the EVANGEL UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS. The Ravens led 17-6 by Halftime, then, following a scoreless 3rd Quarter, BC finished off the Crusaders to the tune of 24-6.
UNHAPPY HOMECOMINGS – The TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS ruined Homecoming for the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY SPIRES by handily defeating them 20-0 ### And the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS manhandled their hosts the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS in a 37-7 laugher.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – The VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS traveled to face the WALDORF UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 13-9 Warriors edge at the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Vikings trailing just 13-12 before pulling off a 25-21 comeback victory in the 4th.
THIRTY-ONE – The OTTAWA UNIVERSITY BRAVES took the field against the visiting MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS (should be the Mastiffs) and drubbed them 31-13 ### And the NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS defeated their guests the CONCORDIA (NE) BULLDOGS 31-17.
NAILBITER – The DAKOTA STATE TROJANS played host to the PRESENTATION COLLEGE SAINTS (should be the Angels) on Saturday. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Saints led 9-0 at the break. The Trojans pulled to within 18-14 in the 3rd Quarter before managing a 21-18 triumph.
TROUNCING THOSE TIGERS – The DORDT COLLEGE DEFENDERS clobbered the visiting DOANE COLLEGE TIGERS by a score of 44-19 ### And the MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS notched an authoritative 50-14 road win over the DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS.
You follow all the big name schools, eh? THAT is was college football is all about. Good job. Thanks.
Ha! Thanks! The COVID nonsense has ruined this season because I usually cover college football for the NAIA, USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association), NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) and NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) plus NCAA Divisions 2 and 3. Only the NAIA is playing this year.
