Ave Maria Gyrenes camo helmetONE-POINT WONDER – The AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES played host to the WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS yesterday. The Gyrenes were up 7-3 in the 1st Quarter but the Royals knotted things up at 17-17 by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Warner U leading 31-23 before Ave Maria University came back in the 4th to win the game 32-31.

Doane College helmetUNHAPPY HOMECOMINGS – The DOANE COLLEGE TIGERS ruined Homecoming for the HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS by defeating them 52-37   ###   Meanwhile the CONCORDIA (NE) BULLDOGS won 24-9 at the BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS’ Homecoming   ###   And the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS crushed the SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS 49-10 to spoil their festivities.

Bethel (KS) ThreshersCLASH IN KANSAS – The BETHEL COLLEGE THRESHERS improved to 3-0 against their hosts the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS. The Threshers converted a 9-7 1st Quarter edge into a 35-7 advantage at the Half. From there they outscored the Warriors 16-14 for a 51-21 victory.

Central Methodist University Eagles helmet NEWTWO-POINT THRILLERS – The CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY EAGLES held off the visiting WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN in a 14-12 nailbiter    ###    And the AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) notched a 37-35 road win at the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS.

HELMETMcPherson_KSUNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – In this game the MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS (should be the Mastiffs) faced the home-standing TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS. The Bulldogs trailed the Blue Jays 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and at the break, then trailed them 14-0 to end the 3rd. In the 4th Quarter McPherson College exploded for 21 points and a 21-14 win.

Dordt College DefendersROAD WARRIORS – The DORDT COLLEGE DEFENDERS roughed up their hosts the DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BLUE TIGERS by a blowout score of 47-10    ###    And the CLARKE UNIVERSITY PRIDE traveled to spank the MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS 52-37.

HELMETGrand_View_IAGETTING A JUMP ON THE WEEKEND – Thursday night the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS (should be the Zebras) and the EVANGEL UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS got the college football weekend started. Grand View University casually smacked around the home-standing Crusaders to the tune of 35-13.

Dickinson State Blue Hawks helmet NEWBLUE HAWKS IN FLIGHT – The DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS welcomed the VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS, who grabbed a 7-0 lead in the 1st Quarter. The Blue Hawks turned things around, going on top 14-7 by Halftime and winning the game 27-13. 

Benedictine RavensFAMILY WEEKEND – The BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS marked Family Weekend with a game against the CULVER-STOCKTON COLLEGE WILDCATS. After a scoreless opening Quarter the Ravens held a 6-3 edge at the Half. That became a 20-3 advantage to end the 3rd Quarter and ultimately a 33-9 triumph.

north american unviersity stallionsSTALLIONS ON THE ROAD – The NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS, in their first year of intercollegiate football, made history again. Last week was their first game AND first home win, this week they visited the COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (LA) HUSKIES. At Halftime the Huskies were on top 20-6 but in the 2nd Half the Stallions would score 28 unanswered points for a 34-28 comeback win.
