COMEBACK KIDS – The WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS hosted the WEBBER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WARRIORS yesterday. The Royals were chasing the Warriors 3-0 to end the 1st Quarter and 10-3 come Halftime. Late in the 3rd Quarter Warner University tied things up at 10-10 before finishing off Webber International in the 4th by a final score of 24-17.
DYNAMIC DEFENDERS – The DORDT COLLEGE DEFENDERS took it on the road against the MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS (should be the Lutherans). Neither team scored in the first 12 and a half minutes of the opening Quarter but the Defenders were on top 14-0 before the 2nd Quarter got underway. At the Half Dordt College was up 14-7 and 16-7 to end the 3rd. From there the Defenders won out 22-14.
AG BOWL – The 5th Annual Ag Bowl pitted the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS against the DAKOTA STATE TROJANS. A 14-7 1st Quarter lead for the Blue Hawks became a 14-14 tie by the midpoint of the game. After the break Dickinson State led the Trojans 20-14 in the 3rd Quarter, then carried through with a 26-14 triumph.
SHUTOUTS – The SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE clobbered the visiting AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES to the tune of 34-0 ### And the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS crushed their guests, the FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY LIONS, who were playing in their FIRST EVER intercollegiate football game, in a SIXTY-TWO to NOTHING embarrassment.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – In this game the OTTAWA (KS) UNIVERSITY BRAVES greeted the OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE STATE AGGIES (should be the Okies). A 7-7 tie to end the 1st Quarter turned into a 14-14 deadlock at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Braves up 21-14 and a hard-fought 4th saw Ottawa U win the game 27-21.
BULLISH ON BULLDOGS – The MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS (should be the Mastiffs) ruined Warriorfest for their hosts the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS, downing them in a 58-40 shootout ### And the CONCORDIA (NE) BULLDOGS won a comfortable 24-7 affair at the DOANE COLLEGE TIGERS.
BORDER FEUD – The BETHEL (KS) THRESHERS welcomed the AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) in this Kansas/ Missouri rivalry. The Threshers were chasing Avila University 14-6 in the 1st Quarter but led them 21-14 at the break. From there Bethel College outscored the Eagles 13-10 for a 34-24 victory.
ROAD WINS – The WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN traveled to take on the MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS and beat them 30-13 ### Meanwhile the VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS won a 21-3 clash at the PRESENTATION COLLEGE SAINTS (should be the Angels).
A MOUND OF POINTS – The SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS took the field against the visiting TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS in this game. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 21-14 Blue Jays advantage by Halftime. After the break the Moundbuilders shut out Tabor College while putting up 27 points to win it 41-21.
BLOWOUTS – The KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES folded, spindled and mutilated the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS by an unbelievable count of SEVENTY to SEVENTEEN! ### And the HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS crushed their guests the DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS (should be the Blue Tigers) 45-7.
DEFENDING CHAMPS TRIUMPH – The MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS – the two-time defending national champions of NAIA football – started their 2020 campaign by hosting the NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS. The Mustangs were challenged but came out on top 45-31.
ROAD WARRIORS – The WALDORF COLLEGE WARRIORS traveled to take on the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS yesterday. The Warriors led 14-7 in the 1st Quarter, 21-10 at Halftime and 28-23 to end the 3rd. In the 4th Quarter Waldorf College exploded for 22 points and a 50-40 win.
