Campbellsville Tigers logoKNOCKING OFF NUMBER ONE – The CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS took it on the road to face the number 1 team in the nation – the GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS. (Have I mentioned there are way too many college sports teams called Tigers?) Campbellsville U put Georgetown on Upset Alert with a 49-44 Halftime edge then held on for a tight 94-92 victory. Taiveyhon Mason led CU with THIRTY-FIVE points.

Master's College Mustangs logoOTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The (16) MASTER’S UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS toppled the visiting (4) WESTMONT COLLEGE WARRIORS 80-75   ###   Meanwhile the CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE OF KANSAS TIGERS (ahem) upset the (13) SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS 99-94 in Overtime   ###   And the MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS used DOUBLE Overtime to defeat the (23) CLARKE UNIVERSITY PRIDE 104-102.

LSU Shreveport Pilots NEWCENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 points or more in Regulation: The (6) LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) trounced the (8) LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS 110-80   ###   The (11) PROVIDENCE (MT) ARGONAUTS hammered the ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS 117-86   ### The (17) ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM won 106-80 at the LIFE PACIFIC COLLEGE WARRIORS   ###   And the EVANGEL UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS won 108-106 at the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS.   

Belleville LynxBATTLE IN THE AMC – The LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY AT BELLEVILLE LYNX visited their American Midwest Conference rivals the SAINT LOUIS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY EUTECTICS yesterday. By the Half the Lynx held a comfortable 56-35 lead, then withstood a furious Eutectics rally to win the game 92-83. Christian McCoy led LU-Belleville with a Double-Double of 22 points and 12 rebounds followed by teammate Jalal Johnson’s Double-Double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.

usao_drovers_150px31USAO ON THE ROAD – The UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS found themselves on the road against the OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY STARS. The Stars had managed a 32-30 edge at the break, but the Drovers stampeded back from there for a 76-70 triumph. Stephon Hall tossed in 19 points to lead USAO, while teammate Dylan Causwell logged a Double-Double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Hastings College Broncos logoNUMBER NINE TAKES A FALL – The HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS welcomed the country’s 9th ranked DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS (should be the Blue Tigers). The Broncos were on top 38-24 come Halftime, then held on from there for a 70-62 Upset win. Bart Hiscock led the way for Hastings College with his Double-Double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Kansas Wesleyan U Coyotes logoOTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES defeated the visiting (14) OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES by a score of 78-64   ###   Meanwhile the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES won 83-73 at the (15) SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE   ###   And the UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS took down the (23) LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES 83-75.

hustlin-owls1CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 points or more in Regulation: The (8) OREGON TECH HUSTLIN’ OWLS won a 103-89 clash with the MULTNOMAH UNIVERSITY LIONS   ###   The FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY ROYALS obliterated the JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY WILDCATS 101-51   ###   The SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY SAINTS smacked down the WRIGHT STATE AT THE LAKE LAKERS 117-59   ###   And the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS won 109-98 at the BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES.

trinity-international-university-trojans-logoMARATHON GAME OF THE DAY – This designation goes to the battle between the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS and their hosts the CALUMET COLLEGE CRIMSON WAVE. Regulation wasn’t enough for these two teams. One Overtime wasn’t enough. Two Overtimes weren’t enough. In FIVE OVERTIMES the Trojans finally emerged with a 113-108 victory.

bethel pilots NEWTHE HIGHWAY 20 CUP – This game pitted the (25) BETHEL (IN) PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) against the visiting GOSHEN COLLEGE MAPLE LEAFS. The Pilots had grabbed a 36-33 edge by the Half. After the break Bethel managed to get more and more separation from the Maple Leafs to win it 89-72. Trevion Crews put up 24 points to lead the Pilots.
