AMERICAN MIDWEST CONFERENCE
DAY TWO, GAME ONE: The 6 seeds – the LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY AT BELLEVILLE LYNX – played an elimination game against the 7th seeded HARRIS-STOWE STATE HORNETS. The Hornets grabbed a 1-0 edge in the 1st Inning, which stood until the Lynx tied the game at 1-1 in the 3rd.
From there LU-Belleville shut out Harris-Stowe State while adding 2 runs each in the 5th and 6th Innings. The Lynx won the game 5-1 for Pitcher Dylan Chisholm, who was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings.
DAY TWO, GAME TWO: Another elimination game pitted the 4th seeded LYON COLLEGE SCOTS against the 8 seeds – the PARK UNIVERSITY PIRATES. The Scots kept the Pirates off the scoreboard until the 3rd Inning, by which time they compiled a 5-1 advantage.
That became a 9-3 Lyon College lead in the 5th Inning, following which 4 more Runs from the Scots in the 7th gave them a 13-3 blowout victory. Mack Larson pitched for the win.
GOLDEN STATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The 3 seeds – the HOPE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ROYALS – took on the top seeded WILLIAM JESSUP UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The Royals parlayed a 1-0 1st Inning edge into a 4-0 lead in the 2nd.
The Warriors made it a 4-3 game by the 4th Inning but Hope International University shut them out the rest of the way. On top of that the Royals added Runs in the 5th, 7th and 8th Innings to win it 8-3. Pitcher Henry Martinez got the W. * THE ROYALS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE GSAC TOURNAMENT *
MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE
DAY ONE, GAME ONE: The 4th seeded CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY PHOENIX started the MSC Tournament off against the 5 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF PIKEVILLE BEARS. Neither team scored in the 1st Inning but the Bears went up 2-0 in the 2nd.
In the 5th Inning the Phoenix made it a 3-2 game with UPike still on top. Cumberland University grabbed a 5-3 advantage in the 7th but the Bears tied things up at 5-5 in the top of the 9th Inning. The Phoenix won the game 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th, with credit going to Pitcher James Hatcher.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO: In this game the 3 seeds – the CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS – played the 2nd seeded GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS. After 2 scoreless Innings Campbellsville took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd.
From there it was a Pitcher’s Duel, with CU notching another Run in the 5th Inning and riding it to a 3-0 Upset victory over Georgetown College. Anthony Arias threw for the win.
