point loma nazareneELITE EIGHT: FIRST BERTH – One of the remaining 1 seeds – the POINT LOMA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY SEA LIONS – took on the 3rd seeded SAINT MARTIN’S UNIVERSITY SAINTS. The Sea Lions put up 30 points in the 1st Half compared to the 24 scored by the Saints. In the 2nd Half the teams notched another 30 points each, giving Point Loma Nazarene University a 60-54 victory. Daulton Hommes led the Sea Lions with 25 points.

Southern Indiana University Screaming EaglesELITE EIGHT: SECOND BERTH – The 4th seeded UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN INDIANA SCREAMING EAGLES did battle with their Region’s 2 seeds – the BELLARMINE UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. The Screaming Eagles seemed doomed to defeat at Halftime, trailing the Knights 42-26. However, from there USI outscored Bellarmine U 50-27 for a 76-69 comeback Upset. Twenty-seven points from Alex Stein led the Screaming Eagles.

novasoutheasternELITE EIGHT: THIRD BERTH – Another remaining 1 seed – the NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS – went up against the 3rd seeded LYNN UNIVERSITY FIGHTING KNIGHTS. The Sharks methodically parlayed a 44-39 Halftime advantage into a comfortable 89-74 triumph. Nova Southeastern University was led by David Dennis with his 28 points.

Mercyhurst University Lakers logoELITE EIGHT: FOURTH BERTH – Up next the 4 seeds – the Upset-Minded MERCYHURST UNIVERSITY LAKERS – faced the 2nd seeded WEST LIBERTY STATE HILLTOPPERS. The Hilltoppers were up 39-38 at the break but then saw the Lakers overtake them to win the game by a final score of 82-70. Leading Mercyhurst University was Patrick Smith with a Double Double of 16 points and 17 rebounds.  

Queens University of Charlotte RoyalsELITE EIGHT: FIFTH BERTH – The 1 seeded QUEENS UNIVERSITY OF CHARLOTTE ROYALS found themselves taking on the 2 seeds – the AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY JAGUARS. A slender 39-38 Halftime edge for the Royals ultimately became a 91-78 victory. Shaun Willett logged a Double Double of THIRTY-THREE points and 13 rebounds to lead Queens University of Charlotte.

nwmo1ELITE EIGHT: SIXTH BERTH – Another 1 seed (the D2 Tournament has eight 1 seeds due to the way it is bracketed) – the NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE BEARCATS – played the 6th seeded MISSOURI SOUTHERN STATE LIONS. This catfight found the Bearcats leading the Lions 33-24 at the midpoint before polishing them off 82-70. Ryan Hawkins tossed in 28 points to lead Northwest Missouri State.

Saint Anselm College Hawks logoELITE EIGHT: SEVENTH BERTH – The 1 seeded SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE HAWKS (only two 1 seeds have fallen thus far) battled the 4 seeds – the SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE SPARTANS. The Hawks never really let the Spartans in this game, leading them 39-22 at Halftime then trouncing them to the tune of 74-49. Cody Ball, Tim Guers and Chris Paul led St Anselm with 16 points each.

west texas a&m buffaloes logoELITE EIGHT: FINAL BERTH – The final 1 seed – the WEST TEXAS A&M BUFFALOES – took the court against the 2nd seeded SAINT EDWARD’S UNIVERSITY HILLTOPPERS. No surprises were in store in this game as the Buffaloes extended a 43-33 lead at the Half into a 89-70 victory. Ryan Quaid’s Double Double of 29 points and 11 rebounds led West Texas A&M over the Hilltoppers.


Moberly Area College GreyhoundsDAY TWO, GAME ONE – The 14th seeded MOBERLY AREA COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS played the 19 seeds – the NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN in this game. The Greyhounds were out in front of the Golden Norsemen 33-30 at the break, then got even more separation in the 2nd Half. The final score was Moberly 82  NEO A&M 73. Twenty-five points from Alonzo Verge led the Greyhounds.

Pearl River Wildcats logoDAY TWO, GAME TWO – Next the 11 seeds – the PEARL RIVER COLLEGE WILDCATS – clashed with the 22nd seeded WILLISTON STATE TETONS. The Wildcats were in control all the way, converting a 43-34 Halftime lead over the Tetons into an 83-69 win. Leading the way for Pearl River College was Cedric Brim, Jr with 22 points. 

Northwest Florida State RaidersDAY TWO, GAME THREE – The top seeded NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE RAIDERS played the 17 seeds – the CAPE FEAR COLLEGE SEA DEVILS. This was a butt-kicking as the Raiders were up 36-23 at the midpoint on their way to a 95-75 victory over the Sea Devils. Javion Hamlet scored 25 points to lead Northwest Florida State.

Ranger College RangersDAY TWO, GAME FOUR – This game pitted the 8 seeds – the RANGER COLLEGE RANGERS – against the 24th seeded CLEVELAND (TN) STATE COUGARS. The higher seed once again had their way with their opponents. The Rangers outscored the Cougars 38-30 in the 1st Half and 45-36 in the 2nd for an 83-66 triumph. Caleb Asberry led Ranger College to the win with 18 points.

South Plains College Texans NEWDAY TWO, GAME FIVE – In the 2 spot the SOUTH PLAINS COLLEGE TEXANS fought the 15 seeds – the TRINITY VALLEY COLLEGE CARDINALS. The Texans led the Cardinals 40-35 at the Half, then squeezed out a little more room to win the game 82-75. Gaige Prim and Trey Wade put up 22 points each to lead South Plains College.

Eastern Florida State TitansDAY TWO, GAME SIX – An Upset was in store for this final game of Day Two. The 10 seeds – the EASTERN FLORIDA STATE TITANS – went up against the 7th seeded SEWARD COUNTY COLLEGE SAINTS. The Titans put the Saints on notice at Halftime with a 34-22 advantage, then carried through with a 67-59 victory led by 14 points from Nathanael Jack.
