COLLEGE FOOTBALL: CRUSADERS UPSET PURPLE RAIDERS FOR NCAA D3 TITLE

MHBU CrusadersNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS are threatening to become the fiercest rivals of the dynastic UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS since UW-Whitewater. Last night the two teams squared off yet again for the D3 crown.

The Purple Raiders held a 10-7 edge to end the 1st Quarter but by Halftime the Crusaders were on top 14-13.

After the break UMHB added to their lead with a Field Goal in the 3rd Quarter and a Touchdown in the 4th. Meanwhile they limited Mount Union’s 2nd Half scoring to a mere 3 points in the 4th Quarter. The final tally was Crusaders 24  Purple Raiders 16. * THE CRUSADERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCAA DIVISION THREE FOOTBALL *

Later today the NAIA Championship Game will pit the BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS against the MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS and the NCAA Division Two title tilt will see the VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS tussle with the FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS.
