St John's Johnnies helmetNUMBER THREE FALLS ON THE ROAD – In NCAA Division Three the 8th ranked SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY JOHNNIES played host to the number 3 team in the nation – the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT THOMAS TOMMIES. After a 7-6 1st Quarter lead for the Tommies the Johnnies went on top 19-7 and 33-20 in the 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively. From there Saint John’s University won it 40-20.

Eastern Oregon helmetKNOCKING OFF NUMBER SEVEN – Up in the NAIA the number 24 EASTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS visited the country’s number 7 team – the SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS (should be the Sea Gulls). The 1st Half was a defensive epic resulting in a 3-3 tie at Halftime. After the break the Mountaineers outscored SOU 24-14 for a 27-17 upset triumph.

ASA CollegeSEVENTY-EIGHT – In the NJCAA the ASA (NY) COLLEGE AVENGERS took the field against their guests the CAPP CRUSADERS. The Avengers dominated on both sides of the ball, utterly annihilating the hapless Crusaders in the process. When all was said and done ASA College won by a final tally of SEVENTY-EIGHT to SIX!

Williamson Trade HelmetUSCAA GAME OF THE WEEK – The top-ranked WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS hosted their Homecoming opponents the DELAWARE GAMECOCKS. A 6-6 Halftime tie became a 12-6 Mechanics lead to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Williamson outscored the Gamecocks 7-6 for a 19-12 victory.

Southern_VirginiaNCAA OVER USCAA – This game pitted the SOUTHERN VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS (should be the Danites) from NCAA Division 3 against the homestanding NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS from the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association). The Knights led 10-0 in the 1st Quarter before the Builders went up 21-10 by the break. SVU owned the 2nd Half for a 23-21 comeback win.


Keiser SeahawksOTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The KEISER UNIVERSITY SEA HAWKS welcomed the (23) WEBBER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WARRIORS and defeated them in a 21-14 Instant Classic    ###    And the COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES won a 23-20 Overtime epic at the (25) MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS.

Bethany College Swedes NEWHOW SWEDE IT IS! – The BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES did battle with the visiting STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS in this game. The Swedes led 14-7 in the 1st Quarter and from there ran up a 35-7 advantage by the 4th. The Warriors mustered a garbage time Touchdown and PAT to make the final score 35-14 in this Bethany College win.

William Penn StatesmenHAPPY HOMECOMINGS – The WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN marked Homecoming with a 24-21 defeat of the CULVER-STOCKTON COLLEGE WILDCATS    ###    Meanwhile the (21) DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS totaled the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS 40-14    ###    And the (22) OTTAWA UNIVERSITY BRAVES won a 52-24 beatdown of the MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS (should be the Mastiffs).  


Tarleton State Texans helmetUPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The (16) TARLETON STATE TEXANS clobbered the homestanding (11) TEXAS A&M AT COMMERCE LIONS 47-21    ###    Meanwhile the SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE SAVAGE STORM shut out the (14) SOUTHERN ARKANSAS UNIVERSITY MULERIDERS 21-10    ###    And the FORT HAYS STATE TIGERS mauled the (17) PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS by a count of 50-21.

HillsdaleBATTLING WITH THE BATTLERS – The storied HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS welcomed the ALDERSON-BROADDUS UNIVERSITY BATTLERS on Saturday. The Chargers were all business as they converted a 21-0 1st Quarter lead into a 35-3 Halftime advantage and ultimately a 45-24 victory. 

Pace Setters helmetWORKIN’ OVERTIME – Four Quarters weren’t enough in these games: The PACE UNIVERSITY SETTERS (Irish Setters) won a 23-20 OT clash with their hosts the BENTLEY UNIVERSITY FALCONS   ###    The ASSUMPTION COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS defeated the SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE OWLS 26-20   ###    And the MINNESOTA STATE AT MOORHEAD DRAGONS won 28-22 at the WAYNE STATE WILDCATS.


Concordia_MINUMBER ONE ROLLS – The top ranked CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS – who are number 11 in the NAIA rankings – celebrated Homecoming with a game against the MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS. The Cardinals led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 28-7 at the break. Both Defenses ruled the 2nd Half and 28-7 turned out to be the final score as well.

Ottawa (AZ) SpiritONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – The (6) OTTAWA (AZ) UNIVERSITY SPIRIT are still in their very first season of intercollegiate football. The visiting TEXAS COLLEGE STEERS are gridiron veterans but you wouldn’t know it by yesterday’s game. The Spirit made the Steers their prison brides to the tune of SIXTY-THREE to FOURTEEN!

Trinity Bible College Lions helmetLIONS AND TIGERS AND WINS, OH MY! – The TRINITY BIBLE COLLEGE LIONS led their guests the HAYWOOD COLLEGE CRUSADERS 34-6 at Halftime on their way to a 41-6 blowout win    ###    And the (5) CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS won 31-21 at the CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY PHOENIX. 


Washington (MO) helmetOTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The only other Upset in the Division Three rankings yesterday was in the clash between the WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN SAINT LOUIS BEARS and the visiting (12) WHEATON COLLEGE THUNDER. The Bears were chasing the Thunder 7-3 at Halftime but came roaring back after the break for a 17-10 victory.  

Pacific Boxers helmetONE POINT WONDERS – The PACIFIC UNIVERSITY BOXERS were on the road against the PUGET SOUND UNIVERSITY LOGGERS and won a 23-22 thriller    ###    Meanwhile the SAINT NORBERT COLLEGE GREEN KNIGHTS won 21-20 at the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MAROONS    ###    And the CENTRAL COLLEGE DUTCH snuck past the SIMPSON COLLEGE STORM 17-16.   

Austin CollegeHOPPING TO A WIN – The AUSTIN COLLEGE KANGAROOS traveled to face the MILLSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS on Saturday. A 7-3 1st Quarter edge for the Kangaroos became 20-3 by the Half. The Majors managed a slight rally in the 2nd Half but it wasn’t enough as Austin College won it 34-23.
