Navarro CollegeKNOCKING OFF NUMBER TWO – The NAVARRO COLLEGE BULLDOGS took it on the road against the undefeated 2nd ranked team in the nation – the TYLER COLLEGE APACHES. Navarro trailed the Apaches 14-0 in the 1st Quarter and 26-13 at Halftime. After the break the Bulldogs made their move, shutting out Tyler College the rest of the way while notching 7 points in the 3rd Quarter and 17 in the 4th. Navarro College pulled off the mammoth upset by a final count of 37-26.

ASA CollegeAND ANOTHER UPSET IN THE TOP TEN – The storied ASA COLLEGE AVENGERS welcomed the number 10 LACKAWANNA COLLEGE FALCONS. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Avengers and the Falcons were tied up at 7-7 by the Half. An action-packed 3rd Quarter saw ASA College go on top 19-14 and a Safety in the 4th cemented a 21-14 win for the Avengers.

Arizona Western College good helmetWHEN RANKED TEAMS COLLIDE – This game pitted the 5th ranked ARIZONA WESTERN COLLEGE MATADORS against the home-standing SNOW COLLEGE BADGERS. A 12-7 Halftime advantage for the Matadors became a 21-19 deficit to end the 3rd Quarter. From there Arizona Western College outscored the Badgers 10-6 for a thrilling 29-27 road victory.

Butler (KS) GrizzliesWE WENT TO A FOOTBALL GAME BUT A BASEBALL GAME BROKE OUT – This week’s game that fits this category was the clash between the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES and their hosts the HIGHLAND COLLEGE SCOTTIES. The Grizzlies led 6-0 at the midpoint and in the 4th Quarter gave up a Safety to get themselves out of a jam. That made the final score in this odd game Butler 6  Scotties 2.

Fort Scott Greyhounds helmetWORKIN’ OVERTIME – The FORT SCOTT COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS and the visiting IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS ended the 4th Quarter knotted at 7-7. In the unusual OT session that followed the Greyhounds notched a Field Goal then a Pick Six from the Tritons for a 16-7 triumph.   ###   And the INDEPENDENCE PIRATES won a 44-38 OT battle with the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS.

Louisburg College HurricanesTHE COOLER-NAMED TEAM WINS – The LOUISBURG COLLEGE HURRICANES remained unbeaten with a 38-20 victory over the NASSAU COLLEGE LIONS    ###    Meanwhile the COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS downed the home-standing ERIE COLLEGE KATS by a final tally of 46-34.   

Vermilion College Ironmen helmetINVINCIBLE IRONMEN – The VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN traveled to face the FOND DU LAC TRIBAL COLLEGE THUNDER in this game. The Ironmen led the Thunder 8-0 in the 1st Quarter but just 16-12 by Halftime. Fond Du Lac Tribal College grabbed an 18-16 edge to end the 3rd Quarter but Vermilion came from behind in the 4th for a 22-18 win.

ASA Miami Silver StormSHUTOUTS – There was only one shutout in NJCAA action this go-round and it happened in the game pitting the ASA (FL) COLLEGE SILVER STORM against the visiting APA PANTHERS. The Silver Storm folded, spindled and mutilated their hapless opponents and in the end emerged with a FORTY-EIGHT to NOTHING victory.

Eastern Arizona CollegeUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The EASTERN ARIZONA COLLEGE GILA MONSTERS converted a 7-6 Halftime advantage into a 21-16 victory over the PIMA COLLEGE AZTECS    ###    Meanwhile the MONROE COLLEGE MUSTANGS edged the VALLEY FORGE MILITARY PATRIOTS 34-32   ###   And the KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS held on for a 17-15 win over the NEW MEXICO MILITARY INSTITUTE BRONCOS (should be the Cavalry).
