BIGGEST COMEBACK IN PROGRAM HISTORY – The storied HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS added another page to their history on Saturday in their game against the COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS. The Blue Dragons trailed by 25 points in the 2nd Quarter before notching TWENTY-THREE points to trail just 25-23 at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Red Ravens still on top 42-36 but in the 4th Hutchinson College shut out Coffeyville and won the game 50-42.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – The COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS traveled to take on the IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Chaparrals snagged a 10-6 lead by the break. The Defenses reigned in the 3rd Quarter like they did in the 1st, and the College of DuPage scored a Field Goal in the 4th for a 13-6 triumph. Kicker Thiago Kapps led the Chaparrals in scoring with his 7 points.
SHUTOUTS – The (19) EASTERN ARIZONA COLLEGE GILA MONSTERS hosted the ARIZONA ACADEMY SOUL PATROL and proceeded to make them their prison brides to the tune of SIXTY-EIGHT to NOTHING ### Meanwhile the ASA COLLEGE (FL) SILVER STORM battered the ADVANCE ACADEMY PANTHERS by a score of 52-0 ### And the CISCO COLLEGE WRANGLERS outdid even those one-sided scores, obliterating the REZOLUTION (sic) ACADEMY WILDCATS in a NINETY-EIGHT to NOTHING laugher.
EPIC IN ARIZONA – This game pitted the PHOENIX COLLEGE BEARS against the visiting GLENDALE (AZ) COLLEGE GAUCHOS in a riveting affair. A 7-0 lead for the Bears over the Gauchos became a 7-7 tie by the Half. With both teams tied up at 14-14 in the 4th Quarter Phoenix College did the Bear Necessities essential to notch another Touchdown for a 21-14 victory. QB Noah Grover passed for 190 yds and 2 TDs in the win.
THE REVOLUTION WILL BE SNOWED UPON – Meanwhile, up in Utah the (20) SNOW COLLEGE BADGERS went head to head with the WASATCH ACADEMY REVOLUTION. The Badgers shot out to a quick 21-0 advantage in the opening Quarter and never looked back from there. When all was said and done Snow College had crushed the incipient Revolution 65-6, with that 6 not coming in Garbage Time.
ODDBALL GAME OF THE DAY – The (16) TYLER COLLEGE APACHES were on the road against the KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS. Nothing but a Safety was scored in the 1st Quarter, giving the Apaches a 2-0 edge. The oddness lingered with an 8-0 Tyler College lead at Halftime, and ultimately 8 points would be all the Rangers could muster as the Apaches added 14 points for a 22-8 triumph. Tyler’s JT Smith rushed for 110 yards.
BLOWOUTS – The (12) IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS parlayed a 21-0 1st Quarter lead into a 70-21 road win over the INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES ### Meanwhile the (4) TRINITY VALLEY COLLEGE CARDINALS won the Battle of the Valley against the PIMA COLLEGE AZTECS by a score of 57-3 ### And the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES mauled the visiting FORT SCOTT COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS to the tune of 42-14.
