FINAL FOUR, GAME ONE – This semifinal clash pitted two 1-seeds against each other: the UNION COLLEGE BULLDOGS and the INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS, the defending National Champions.
The Bulldogs worked their way out to a 46-35 advantage over the Wildcats by Halftime, then managed to keep them at arm’s length the rest of the way. Union College dethroned the Champs by a final score of 92-80 led by Mike Martin with 22 points.
FINAL FOUR, GAME TWO – The other remaining 1 seed – the CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES – took the court against the Cinderella 6 seeds – the BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY BRUINS.
Smothering defense was the tale of the opening Half, which ended with the two teams tied at 29-29. After the break the Golden Eagles found their rhythm offensively and got more and more distance between themselves and the Bruins. Cornerstone University moved on to the title game with a 69-57 triumph. Kyle Steigenga registered a Double Double of 19 points and 11 rebounds for the victors.

DISTRICT 301 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this District were the HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS and the ONONDAGA COLLEGE LAZERS (sic).
By Halftime the Generals had snuck to a 34-29 lead over the Lazers and the 2nd Half was almost exactly the same as Herkimer College proceeded to win the game by a final tally of 65-55. The Generals’ Tyquan Scott had a Double Double of 17 points and 11 rebounds while his teammate Justin Harley followed with 17 points and 9 boards.
DISTRICT 302 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Up next the ELGIN COLLEGE SPARTANS faced the LORAIN COUNTY COLLEGE COMMODORES.
The Spartans got off to a double-digit lead against the Commodores, climbing on top of them by a score of 38-24 at Halftime. Elgin College prevented Lorain from closing the gap and defeated them 86-68. The Spartans were led by Juwan Stewart’s 19 points and Homer Denson’s Double Double of 11 points and TWENTY-THREE rebounds.
DISTRICT 303 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Fighting it out in this game were the NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS and the RICHLAND COLLEGE THUNDER DUCKS.
By the Half the underdog Blazers had left the Thunder Ducks trailing them to the tune of 33-25. From there North Lake College went on to consummate the upset 72-60. Akeem Black contributed 15 points to lead the Blazers.
DISTRICT 304 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this contest the ANOKA-RAMSEY COLLEGE GOLDEN RAMS battled the ROCHESTER TECHNICAL COLLEGE YELLOW JACKETS.
The Golden Rams compiled a 46-32 lead over the Yellow Jackets by the Half and followed that up by gaining a little more distance between themselves and their opponents after the break. Anoka-Ramsey College won it 100-83. Nineteen points from Mamadou Ngom led the Golden Rams.
DISTRICT 305 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The NASSAU COLLEGE LIONS took the court against the SULLIVAN COUNTY COLLEGE GENERALS.
The Lions roared on their way to a 45-34 advantage over the Generals by the break and then spent the 2nd Half snuffing out any Sullivan County College hopes for a miracle rally. Nassau College advanced to the NJCAA3 Big Dance by way of an 87-77 victory. Terrell Williams tossed in 29 points for the Lions.
DISTRICT 306 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This District title tilt pitted the BROOKDALE COLLEGE JERSEY BLUES against the CAMDEN COLLEGE COUGARS.
An upset seemed to be in the offing as the Cougars contained the Jersey Blues in the 1st Half and led them 31-26 at the break. From there Brookdale College was always playing catch-up until a late surge earned them a 72-69 comeback win. James Wright and Kerry Kirkwood led the Jersey Blues with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
DISTRICT 307 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This game saw the DAVIDSON COUNTY COLLEGE STORM take on the MONTGOMERY COLLEGE RAPTORS for a trip to the Big Dance.
At the midpoint of the game the Raptors put the Storm on upset alert with a slender 40-39 edge. That woke up Davidson County College, which went on to dominate the 2nd Half and win the game 92-79. Brandon Rothrock’s 22 points and 8 rebounds led the way for the Storm.
DISTRICT 308 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The MASSACHUSETTS BAY COLLEGE BUCCANEERS squared off against the BUNKER HILL COLLEGE BULLDOGS in this game.
The Buccaneers put up 37 points in each Half for a midpoint tally of 37-30 and a a nailbiting 74-71 victory when all was said and done. MassBay College was led by Raheem McCoy with 15 points, while two other Bucs put up Double Doubles. Kyle Jimenez-Fox notched 12 points and 15 rebounds, with Kameron Jimenez-Fox getting 11 points and 13 boards.
