Morningside MustangsNUMBER THREE GETS TAKEN DOWN – The 6th seeded MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS welcomed the Number 3 team in the nation – the DOANE COLLEGE TIGERS. The Mustangs are still boiling from their undeserved drop in the rankings a few weeks ago and took their anger out on the Tigers in a SIXTY-NINE to SEVEN blowout.

Harding Bisons helmetNUMBER EIGHT FALLS AT HOME – The Number 18 HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON traveled to take on the 8th ranked HENDERSON STATE REDDIES yesterday. To the shock of the entire country the Bison proceeded to dismember the Reddies on their own field, manhandling them to the tune of 35-3.

California_PAAND NUMBER NINE COMES TUMBLING AFTER – The 16th ranked CALIFORNIA (PA) VULCANS (as in the Roman fire and forge god) hosted the Number 9 INDIANA UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA CRIMSON HAWKS. This game was a true Instant Classic, with the Vulcans edging the Crimson Hawks by a very tight final score of 31-28.

Trinity Bible College Lions helmetTBC WAS A-OK – The TRINITY BIBLE COLLEGE LIONS from the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) took the field against the visiting FINLANDIA UNIVERSITY LIONS. An 8-0 lead for Trinity Bible College in the 1st Quarter was cut to just a 16-14 edge by Halftime. TBC led Finlandia 24-20 to start the 4th Quarter and won the game 36-20.  

dean-college-bulldogs-helmet-newNEWCOMERS TRIUMPHANT – The DEAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS are new to the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) and yesterday they battled the veteran USCAA team the ALFRED STATE PIONEERS. The newcomers took the vets to school, annihilating them in a FORTY-SEVEN to NINETEEN laugher.

Maranatha Baptist Sabercats helmetNCCAA OVER USCAA – From the NCCAA the MARANATHA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SABERCATS were on the road against the USCAA’s ROBERT MORRIS-PEORIA EAGLES on Saturday. It was no contest as the Sabercats folded, spindled and mutilated the Eagles by a final tally of 49-20.

saint-xavier-cougars-helmet-newOTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – Besides the Morningside victory over Doane there was only one other upset in the NAIA Top Twenty-Five yesterday. The unranked SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS welcomed their Mid-States Football Association rivals the Number 23 CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS. The Cougars won out in a 25-21 game for the ages!  

Georgetown (KY) TigersHAPPY HOMECOMINGS – The (11) GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS celebrated Homecoming by smacking around the BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS to the tune of 28-7   ###    And the celebrating UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY SPIRES won a 17-10 Instant Classic against the BETHEL (KS) THRESHERS.

Presentation Saints helmetUNHAPPY HOMECOMINGS – Among the spoiled Homecoming events yesterday the PRESENTATION COLLEGE SAINTS topped their hosts the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES 34-25   ###    The DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS clobbered the WALDORF UNIVERSITY WARRIORS by a count of 49-20   ###   And the VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS won a thrilling 21-15 clash with the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS.

Olivet Nazarene Tigers helmet NEWUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS hosted the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS and snuck past them 27-24   ###   Meanwhile the OTTAWA UNIVERSITY BRAVES survived a 55-52 shootout with the MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS   ###   And the (14) KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES rained on the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS’ Homecoming 45-42.

Concordia (NE) BulldogsONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – The CONCORDIA (NE) BULLDOGS absolutely devastated the visiting BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS by a score of 56-0   ###   The (4) REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES got a 62-13 road win over the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES   ###   And the SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE scorched the EDWARD WATERS (FL) TIGERS 51-7.

Arizona Christian Univ helmet GOODROAD WARRIORS – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM invaded the den of the SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS and edged them 29-22   ###   And the MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS defeated the UNIVERSITY OF LINDENWOOD AT BELLEVILLE LYNX 14-7.

*** NCAA DIVISION TWO ***

Valdosta_StOTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP FIFTEEN – The Number 21 VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS clashed with the visiting 10th ranked UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA WOLVES and dispatched them 38-27   ###    And the COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES OREDIGGERS toppled the Number 12 AZUSA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY COUGARS in a 27-23 thriller.

Black Hills StateUPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The BLACK HILLS STATE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS stung their guests the 18th ranked COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS 48-34   ###    And the FORT HAYS STATE TIGERS notched a 54-41 road win over the Number 25 PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS.  

*** NCAA DIVISION THREE ***

HELMETROWANUPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The ROWAN UNIVERSITY PROFS welcomed the unlucky Number 13 SALISBURY UNIVERSITY SEA GULLS and edged them 34-30   ###    And the RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE ENGINEERS brought down the 22nd ranked HOBART COLLEGE STATESMEN in a 21-17 nailbiter of a game.
