RAGNAR THE TERRIER LOOKS AT FOOTBALL HELMETS

Ragnar loves his peeps, especially his Mom – my sister Rosemary

Regular readers of Balladeer’s Blog are familiar with my sister Rosemary’s dog Ragnar. Since he’s a Terrier he offered to give his expert opinion on the football helmets used by college teams with Terrier names.

School: Wofford College

Team Name: Terriers

Ragnar Says: Wofford hasn’t used this particular helmet design since the late 1980s. They’ve been using incredibly boring BLANK helmets instead. Now what kind of message does that send?

School: Highland College

Team Name: Scotties

Ragnar Says: How can you not love this helmet? That handsome fellow is wearing his game face but still conveys what lovable and irresistable scamps we Terriers are.

School: Carnegie Mellon University

Team Name: Tartans

Ragnar Says: Now THIS is what I’m talking about! A splendid profile and an overall eye-catching helmet. Best of all the Tartans are STILL using this gorgeous, gorgeous helmet! I want to strap that baby on and hit the field!

School: Hiram College

Team Name: Terriers

Ragnar Says: This is another sad case where a perfectly good helmet logo of a Terrier in profile gave way to incredibly boring helmets. No Terrier pic, no National Championship either. Coincidence? I think not!

School: Boston University

Ragnar Says: Now come ON, Boston University! You guys just embarrassed yourselves with this half-assed effort! No wonder your football team is now defunct. Child, please!
