USC has been a power in Beach Volleyball going back to when it was still called Sand Volleyball.
Beach Volleyball is now the 90th NCAA sport with an official National Championship. This year was the first ever title tournament under the NCAA and the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TROJANS have won it.
The Women of Troy defeated the Florida State Seminoles in straight sets 3-0 and enter the history books. The other teams who made this inaugural championship tournament were the Stetson University Hatters, the Pepperdine College Waves, the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors,
the Georgia State Panthers, the UCLA Bruins and the University of Arizona Wildcats.
