antelope valleDAY TWO OF ROUND TWO: SO-CAL – The 7 seeds – the ANTELOPE VALLEY COLLEGE MARAUDERS – took on the 10th seeded CITY COLLEGE OF SAN DIEGO KNIGHTS. Everything went the way of the Marauders in the 1st Half, and they built up a 42-31 advantage by the break. Bakersfield Renegades NEWGAME II – In this game there was a 9 seed over 8 seed upset as the (9) BAKERSFIELD COLLEGE RENEGADES did battle with the (9) MOORPARK COLLEGE RAIDERS. Fullerton College Hornets logoGAME III – No real surprise in this clash between the 6 seeds – the FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS – and the 11th seeded CUESTA COLLEGE COUGARS. The Hornets and Cougars played it tight in the opening Half with Fullerton College eking out a mere 34-30 lead by the midpoint. The 2nd Half was just as tight but Cuesta College lost a bit more ground, losing by a final score of 76-68. The lead scorer for the Hornets was Julian Richardson with 25 points.

GAME IV – Up next the 5th seeded MOUNT SAN JACINTO COLLEGE EAGLES took the court against the 12 seeds – the CYPRESS COLLEGE CHARGERS. The 1st Half was either a snooze or a masterpiece of defensive basketball, depending on how you saw it. At the break the score stood at Chargers 19  Eagles 16. No, I’m not kidding. The offenses woke up in the 2nd Half with Mt San Jacinto College coming back for a 64-59 win. Tre Nottingham led the Eagles by tossing in 16 points.
