CHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The 3rd seeded SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS led the 6 seeds – the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS – by a score of 49-34 at Halftime. After the break the Cougars poured it on for an 88-67 win led by Larry Motuzis with THIRTY-NINE points. ### And the top seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS took on the 8th seeded SAINT AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES. At the midpoint the Fighting Saints clung to a 38-32 advantage but got separation in the 2nd Half for an 83-62 victory. Landus Anderson led USF with 28 points.
APPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The opening game pitted the 10th seeded MONTREAT COLLEGE CAVALIERS against the 7 seeds – the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS. Regulation ended in a 62-62 tie and Overtime ended with a buzzer- beater by Myles Marshall to give the Cavaliers a 70-68 triumph. ### And the 8th seeded TRUETT- MCCONNELL COLLEGE BEARS clashed with the 9th seeded SAINT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. The Bears were up 30-28 at Halftime and after an equally tight 2nd Half held on for a 72-71 win. Andretti Loyd notched 22 points for TMC.
CASCADE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – The top seeds – the NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY BEACONS – actually trailed the 8th seeded NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY EAGLES 31-30 at the Half but came back to squeeze out a 66-60 victory and move on to the semi-finals. The Beacons were led by Omar Richards with 22 points. ### And the 3rd seeded WARNER PACIFIC COLLEGE KNIGHTS took on the 6 seeds – the EASTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS. The Knights parlayed a 38-24 Halftime lead into a 78-63 win.
CASCADE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – PART TWO – It was win number 1,040 for Dan Miles, the Head Coach of the OREGON TECH HUSTLIN’ OWLS as they defeated the COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES. A 41-22 Hustlin’ Owls lead at the break ultimately became a 79-58 blowout win over the Coyotes. Lamar Moore’s 24 points led Oregon Tech. ### And the final game of the quarter-finals saw the 2nd seeded SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS tackle the 7 seeds – the CORBAN UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The Raiders enjoyed a slender 36-32 edge at Halftime and survived in a 71-68 nailbiter. SOU’s Ben Desaulnier led the way with 15 points.

Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves
GREAT PLAINS ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The 2 seeds – the NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY PRAIRIE WOLVES – scored a Century Club-level 111 points compared to the 98 put up by their defeated opponents, the 7th seeded DORDT COLLEGE DEFENDERS. ### Meanwhile the top seeded BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS bounced the 8th seeded NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS 94-83. ### The (4) MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS edged the (5) HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS by a score of 79-73. ### And the (3) DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS won a 90-82 tussle with the (6) CONCORDIA (NE) BULLDOGS.
KENTUCKY INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The KIAC Opening Round pits the two number 1 seeds from each division against the 4 seeds and the 2 seeds from each division against the 3 seeds. The (1) INDIANA UNIVERSITY- EAST RED WOLVES eliminated the (4) ASBURY (KY) EAGLES 91-75. ### The (1) ALICE LLOYD EAGLES snuck past the (4) UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE (OH) RED STORM by a score of 73-72. ### The (2) POINT PARK UNIVERSITY PIONEERS won a 98-83 game against the (3) BRESCIA COLLEGE BEARCATS. ### And the (2) CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES made it all chalk, beating the (3) WEST VIRGINIA TECH GOLDEN BEARS 70-66.
WOLVERINE-HOOSIER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The (3) INDIANA TECH WARRIORS defeated the (6) CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS by a final score of 72-64. ### The (2) CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES – the reigning national champions – advanced with a 61-49 win over the (7) UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS. ### Meanwhile the top seeded DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS hammered the (8) SIENNA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY SAINTS to the tune of 91-66. ### And the (4) AQUINAS COLLEGE SAINTS took down the (5) MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS in a 70-58 affair.

SO-CAL REGION – The 14th seeded MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE MOUNTIES eliminated the 19 seeds – the GROSSMONT COLLEGE GRIFFINS – by a score of 76-70 ### In an upset the (18) CITRUS COLLEGE OWLS bounced the (15) PALOMAR COLLEGE COMETS 77-63 ### Meanwhile the (13) CERRITOS COLLEGE FALCONS advanced past the (20) VENTURA COLLEGE PIRATES in a 66-59 game ### And the (16) MIRA COSTA COLLEGE SPARTANS downed the (17) GLENDALE (CA) COLLEGE VAQUEROS 71-59.
NOR-CAL REGION – There were only two games in the Opening Round for the Nor-Cal Region Tournament. First off the 18 seeds – the SACRAMENTO CITY COLLEGE PANTHERS managed to upset the 15th seeded FOOTHILL COLLEGE FIGHTING OWLS by a final tally of 79-61. ### And in the other game played yesterday in this region the 17th seeded SIERRA COLLEGE WOLVERINES made it a pair of upsets in a row as they toppled their opponents, the 16 seeds – the COLUMBIA (CA) COLLEGE CLAIM-JUMPERS (love that name). The final score in this game wound up being Wolverines 75 Claim-Jumpers 66.
