I think it is too soon to decide if the Obama Presidency is a failure. It takes the filter of time, consequences and benefits to be weighed from both global and national perspectives. My feeling right now is that Obama will fall into a category similar to Truman. Both had to deal with a hostile majority in Congress. Both had to make decisions that had no historical precedent upon which to weigh the proper course. I respect President Obama, if for no other reason, that he is our Commander in Chief and was elected FAIRLY unlike his predecessor.
I think Obama is even more of a disaster than George W Bush. And by the way the filter of history may well disprove the left’s childish conspiracy theories about the “stolen” election. It’s as silly as the way Republicans always cry “vote fraud” when elections go a way they don’t like. And yes, Republicans accuse me of being an Obama lover when I reject their claims of voter fraud being the reason Barry got reelected.
When you leave the ridiculous “Democrats vs Republicans/ Liberals vs Conservatives” paradigm behind it frees your mind. You don’t have to adopt either party’s silly shirts vs skins talking points.
Globally and nationally Obama has proven that he embodies the worst aspects of the perpetual adolescents of the American Left – he’s a stereotypical classroom blowhard who thinks debate society solutions will work in the real world and who insists on viewing the 21st Century strictly in terms of the issues and conflicts of the 1960s. He’s a pretentious and very condescending ass, just like American Liberals, too.
Little Barry’s political party controlled BOTH HOUSES when he took over the presidency and he still failed to accomplish anything except the disastrous lame-duck session of congress’ passage of Obamacare – an ongoing travesty.
Obama has gotten a free pass from 90% of the media and has been coddled like the overgrown child he is for his entire presidency. He is spiteful and immature, too, like when he taunted Congress about how he “won both his elections” even though Republican trash like George W Bush, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon did, too. Getting reelected is not the unique accomplishment that Barry seems to think it is.
Obama has done nothing but race-bait his entire time in office, needlessly inserting himself into any situation that does nothing but stoke hatred between blacks and whites. The hard-working and studious children of color who get killed by the Trayvon Martins and Mike Browns of the world mean nothing to Little Barry. He instead makes heroes out of criminals.
Obama supporters try to give their Hollow Little Man credit for anything good that goes on but blame his predecessor for everything bad, just like the deluded worshippers of Ronald Reagan always do.
When history looks back on how this weak, inept and crooked little man enabled the most destructive regimes in the world all because of his simple-minded belief that the western democracies are the worst villains in the world, I have every confidence that he’ll still be seen as a complete failure.
By then we will have had other African-American presidents who will probably have done much better jobs and so people will no longer feel the need to desperately pretend that Little Barry was all these wonderful things that he really wasn’t.
I am new to your blog and so far am impressed with your neither left or right stance. I too am without party affiliation because of the same disdain for mob mentality or thoughtless allegiance of any form. I am curious about where you stand on the alternative candidates… Bernie/Trump. I’ve looked through you archives but have not found a blog regarding them.
Thanks for the kind words! As for Trump and Bernie, I’m wary of taking either one all that seriously at this point, nearly a year before the election. Remember in December 2003 when the media-annointed presumptive candidate for the Democrats in 2004 was … Howard Dean? Hilariously enough Susan Estrich was already recommending that John Kerry and the other candidates should drop out and rally around Governor Dean.
Anyway, I’m not convinced either of them will still be a factor 7 or 8 months from now, but I will say I’m glad to see some candidates shaking up the pre-election dialogue.
Trump and Bernie are at least blunt about where they stand and they’ve forced the other candidates to say where they stand on issues they might not have been asked about otherwise.
