COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS

green_terror_mascotUPSET IN THE TOP TEN – The MCDANIEL COLLEGE GREEN TERROR had the Gill Center rocking on Saturday as they toppled the number 10 team in the nation – the FRANKLIN & MARSHALL COLLEGE DIPLOMATS. The Green Terror had the visiting Diplomats worried by Halftime, at which point the score was knotted up at 28-28. The 2nd Half remained a defensive epic and in the end McDaniel prevailed in a tight 59-58 stunner. Cameron Royster led the Green Terror in scoring with his 17 points.  

bethel pilots NEWCENTURY CLUB – NAIA – The Century Club is reserved each week for teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation. The BETHEL (IN) COLLEGE PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) welcomed the MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE UNIVERSITY COUGARS and trailed at the break by a score of 42-39. In the 2nd Half the Pilots seized control of the game, outscoring the Cougars 65-36 on their way to a 104-78 blowout victory. Bethel improves to 17-3 with the win.  

marietta pioneers_logoCENTURY CLUB – D3 – The (7) MARIETTA COLLEGE PIONEERS were on the road against the OTTERBEIN CARDINALS and tossed in 105 points to the Cards’ 66. The 15 from Andy Dollman led the way.     ###      The (12) ALBERTUS MAGNUS FALCONS downed the visiting LASELL COLLEGE LASERS in a 109-90 affair.     ###      And the SAINT JOSEPH’S COLLEGE AT BROOKLYN BEARS mauled the CULINARY INSTITUTE OF AMERICA STEELS 100-64.      

Pine Manor College Gators logoOFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE DAY – The PINE MANOR COLLEGE GATORS thoroughly pleased their fans at Brunelli Court as they folded, spindled and mutilated their guests, the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT AUGUSTA MOOSE. An explosive opening saw the Gators leading 68-43 at Halftime and in the end Pine Manor College won by a final score of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX to NINETY-ONE! Chancie Williams contributed 25 for the Gators.

Indiana Wesleyan WildcatsDEFENDING CHAMPS ROLLING – The INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS, the defending National Champions, did battle with the homestanding SPRING ARBOR UNIVERSITY COUGARS.  The Wildcats led 32-27 at the midpoint on their way to a 69-60 triumph. Jonny Marlin led Indiana Wesleyan offensively with his 14 points. The Wildcats are now 19-1 for the 2014-2015 season. 

rochestercollegewarriorsONE POINT WONDER – The ROCHESTER COLLEGE WARRIORS played host to the INDIANA UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST RED HAWKS yesterday. The Warriors trailed at the Half 33-29 but pulled themselves together after the break for a nailbiting 60-59 comeback win. Paris Pereira’s 18 points were the most from Rochester College in the game.

Alice Lloyd College EaglesDOUBLE OVERTIME THRILLER – The ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE EAGLES traveled to take on the storied INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS. Coming back from a 37-30 Halftime deficit the Eagles ended Regulation with a 65-65 tie. In the 1st Overtime period each team added 5 points but in the 2nd OT Alice Lloyd College at last emerged with a 77-76 victory. The Eagles improve to 10-11 with the win.  

grace college USELEAPIN’ LANCERS – The GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS were true Road Warriors on Saturday, leading their hosts the HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY FORESTERS 39-34 at Halftime. The Lancers had to hold on tight in the 2nd Half to survive a furious comeback attempt by the Foresters but in the end went back home with a 71-68 triumph. The 26 points from Logan Irwin were the most for Grace College.  

WaylandBaptistLogoWAYLAND OPENS UP A CAN – The WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS hosted the UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS. The Pioneers were on top 43-32 by the break and kept up the pressure in the 2nd Half. When the dust settled the final tally was Pioneers 83  Drovers 68. Bunja Yaboe led Wayland Baptist with 16 points.    

Saint Andrews Univ (nc) KnightsKNIGHT PATROL – The SAINT ANDREWS (NC) UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS and their guests the BRYAN COLLEGE LIONS had trouble getting started offensively yesterday. At Halftime the score stood at just 22-20 in favor of the Knights. In the 2nd Half St Andrews University outscored the Lions 46-40 to win the game by a final score of 68-60. Titus Gary notched 22 points to lead the Knights.  

Davenport PanthersROAD WARRIORS – The DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS hammered the homestanding UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN AT DEARBORN WOLVERINES 81-60 led by Dominez Burnett’s 26 points     ###      Meanwhile the INDIANA UNIVERSITY EAST RED WOLVES survived an 84-82 visit to the INDIANA UNIVERSITY AT KOKOMO COUGARS     ###      And the WEST VIRGINIA TECH GOLDEN BEARS defeated the FISHER (MA) FALCONS 77-63.       

Southwestern Assemblies of God LionsUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS had eked out a 40-37 advantage over the visiting JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES (should be the Abolitionists), which slender margin held up in the end for an 84-81 final score     ###      Meanwhile the LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES won a 58-53 defensive grudge match with the MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS     ###      And the GOSHEN COLLEGE MAPLE LEAFS squeaked past the TAYLOR UNIVERSITY TROJANS 59-57.   

cornerstoneMASSACRE IN MICHIGAN – The CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES clawed the CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS on Saturday. By Halftime the Golden Eagles were smothering the Cardinals 32-16 and they didn’t let up in the 2nd Half. Cornerstone ultimately won by a final score of EIGHTY to FORTY-SIX. Ben Lanning led the way in scoring for the Golden Eagles with 16 points.

Elms College BlazersMARATHON GAME OF THE DAY – This week’s Marathon Game of the Day was the TRIPLE OVERTIME clash between the ELMS COLLEGE BLAZERS and the homestanding REGIS COLLEGE PRIDE. The Blazers let the Pride come back from being 3 down at Halftime to tie the game at 57-57 to end Regulation. The 1st Overtime ended in a 63-63 tie, the 2nd at 79-all and finally, in the 3rd OT Elms College eked out a 92-90 victory.  

college of mount saint vincent dolphinsOTHER OVERTIME GAMES – The COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLPHINS hosted the MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE KNIGHTS yesterday and prevailed in a 74-67 Overtime affair     ###      The JOHNSON STATE BADGERS defeated the GREEN MOUNTAIN EAGLES in OT by a score of 94-90     ###     And the EASTERN MENNONITE ROYALS won a 90-81 Double Overtime battle with the HAMPDEN-SYDNEY TIGERS.    

Carthage Red Men logoRED BEATS BLUE – The Tarble Arena was the site of a battle royal in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The CARTHAGE COLLEGE RED MEN welcomed the MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY BIG BLUE. The Red Men compiled a 36-27 lead by Halftime but got outscored by the Big Blue 49-44 in the 2nd Half. Carthage still emerged with an 80-76 win. Cameron Van Wyk had 16 points to lead the Red Men.  

Oglethorpe Stormy PetrelsSTORMY WEATHER – The OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY STORMY PETRELS took it on the road against the BERRY COLLEGE VIKINGS. By the midpoint the Stormy Petrels led by a score of 38-35 and after a hard-fought 2nd Half wound up going back home with an 80-76 victory. Jordan Kinney led the offense for Oglethorpe, tossing in 21 points.  

neumann_APONE POINT WONDERS – The NEUMANN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS trailed their hosts the GWYNEDD MERCY UNIVERSITY GRIFFINS 31-28 at Halftime but turned things around after the break for a tight 72-71 triumph     ###      The THIEL TOMCATS eked out a 1 point road win of their own, 56-55 over the GROVE CITY WOLVERINES     ###      And the WASHINGTON COLLEGE SHOREMEN defeated the MUHLENBERG MULES 77-76.   

Rutgers at Newark Scarlet RaidersNEWARK TRIUMPHANT – The RUTGERS UNIVERSITY AT NEWARK SCARLET RAIDERS took the court against the ROWAN UNIVERSITY PROFS on Saturday. The Scarlet Raiders parlayed a 31-22 advantage at the break into a victory by a final score of 65-60 to improve their record to 12-4. David Azoroh was out in front offensively for RUN with his 21 points.   

Elizabethtown Blue JaysBLUE JAYS DELIVER A SMACKDOWN – The ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE BLUE JAYS took it on the road against the GOUCHER COLLEGE GOPHERS and pretty much had their way with them. The score by the midpoint was Blue Jays 35  Gophers 22 and things only got worse for Goucher from there. In the end Elizabethtown went back home boasting a 71-48 blowout win. Three Blue Jays had 12 points – Lee Eckert, Tyler Simpkiss and Jake Sweger.  

Marywood University PacersUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The MARYWOOD UNIVERSITY PACERS were on the road against the CENTENARY COLLEGE (NJ) CYCLONES and topped them 68-63     ###      Meanwhile the BROOKLYN COLLEGE BULLDOGS won an 82-78 clash with the KEYSTONE GIANTS     ###      And the MARITIME COLLEGE PRIVATEERS edged the homestanding SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE GRYPHONS by a score of 65-62.   

whittierpoetsBLOWOUTS – The WHITTIER COLLEGE POETS suffocated the offense of the visiting POMONA-PITZER SAGEHENS in the 2nd Half and turned a slight 32-30 Halftime lead into a 67-47 final score     ###      And the CLAREMONT-MUDD- SCRIPPS STAGS thoroughly and completely thrashed the UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE LEOPARDS to the tune of 66-39.
