Unlike morose examinations of this topic by Mark Steyn and others Clarey greets the twilight of individual liberties and the diminishing of economic expectations with a swashbuckling smile and a cocktail in one hand. His guide is meant partly tongue-in- cheek but he manages to convey some very practical advice – especially for the younger population who are facing a far bleaker future than previous generations.
